^ 25 RBs could be taken this year. I just wish there were more 1st round candidates so that it would push some of the front 7 depth down to the 30th spot.
I thought I heard Mayock say Clay dropped ~20 lbs, which may end up helping him--even though he ran poorly. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but QB Josh Portis' mechanics looked good in the drills today. His footwork looked crisp; his drops were quick, and didn't hitch before throwing. He also got the ball out quickly on the last step, and wasn't waiting for his receivers before getting the ball out. He looked more streamlined than Cam Newton.
So now that Moch came in and weighed in at 248 lbs, does that change any opinions of taking him in the 3rd.. I know he was listed as 229 and that was definitely smaller than the prototypical OLB.. But if he does run in the 4.3s [or lower] and is available at the end of round 3.. would anyone be against taking him.. that is obviously if we don't go OLB in the first..
He's still a major project, it's not just his weight that was the problem. He is literally play off being faster than everyone out there, little to no moves. And I stand by if he runs under a 4.40, he needs to stop playing defense and switch to RB/TE/WR. All that said, I think he's gone before the Jets' 3rd, but he will probably move out of that round completely with a great combine...
I think Moch's weight moves him from the late 2nd to Mid 3rd range to Mid Second Early 3rd range. A definite bump in stock.
Implying that Josh Portis is better at quarterback than Cam Newton after a workout is borderline retarded.
Moch ran a sub 4.5 Now everyone who still thinks he can play in this system will not shut up. The kid is raw as fuck. He's not for this team.
Well, that depends on where you draft him. Someone will obviously over draft him because he's a physical freak, but I'd have no problem taking a raw prospect after the fourth round.
it was an unofficial 4.45 .. cud definitely be above above a 4.5 once the official times come out especially since the clock has been fast all day and i hope your not just basing his "rawness" on his 40 time..
did not see him running faster than Aldon Smith .. but with Smith's 4.74 thats looking like the case I'm dying to know how true these numbers are .. when do official times come out
No. Projects are for 4th round picks and lower, not premium picks. Especially since the Jets don't have a 2nd round pick, they need someone in the 3rd round who can contribute sooner rather than later. Tanny took a project in the 2nd round last year. If he takes a project in the 3rd round this year and/or trades up again, I may drive to NJ and kick his ass.
All my favorite prospects are going in the top 15. Why do the Jets have to be good? They ruin everything.
here's some notable official 40 Times Moch: 4.44 Chris Carter: 4.62 Acho: 4.68 Brooks Reed: 4.68 Sheard: 4.69 Kerrigan: 4.71 Cam Jordan: 4.78 Aldon Smith 4.78 Clayborn: 4.83
