Which is difficult to do when your skills are on the decline, you know the guy you're responsible to block has you outmatched physically and you know you need to win that first step to have any chance.
He only gave up 1 sack, 3 QB hits, and 14 pressures last year. That's not bad at all, in my opinion. His league-leading 12 penalties are a huge problem, though, and that's why he's available at $2m and not $6m - $7m. http://www.ganggreennation.com/2014/3/18/5523526/jets-looking-to-bring-back-rg-willie-colon He's had penalty problems his whole career, not just last year.
I like the signing for depth only--don't see Willie as star material. With all the cap space, I would like to see the jets steal Mack from the Browns for C and move Mangold to RG or LG.
Happy we signed him as we need someone for depth. But Idzik is signing a stopgap?. I was under the impression That his signings are for the future not for the here and now.
These guys are also going to teach the younger guys how to play in the NFL, they realize what their roles are at the end of their careers. I like the signing.
I'd have preferred we sign Howard over colon personally. I feel like finding a replacement to play at Colon's level or better was easier than with Howard.
I'm really happy we are bringing Colon back. I liked his leadership and toughness. It definitely looks like the Right side of our OL is going to be nasty!!!!!
when they are short term and for a very reasonable price such as this then I am all for it that torn bicep has saved us a fortune.
I didnt realise Howard was looking for a 1yr 2m deal, I thought he just got a $30m contract from the Raiders
