it's funny the first pass that favre threw last sunday was to coles. looks like favre is trying hard...even saying coles reminds him of driver. i wud've thot this dude is mature enuf to understand the biz of the game...or maybe we're reading too much into his comments.
I'm still debating whether the word parrot is more appropriate. All I did was show that it is clear, with evidence to back it up, that what was quoted was torn out of context, twisted by the local rags, then further twisted on this board, simply because people were told by the local "journalists" (and it sickens me to call them that) that Coles is disgruntled "again". It's not a matter of interpreting things "differently". It's a matter of taking the sensationalistic "news" articles, and accepting a bullshit op-ed as a quality journalistic piece. Everyone here knows the media is always looking to stir the pot, yet everyone still eats it up and begs for seconds. People are sitting here calling for the Jets to trade Coles. Trade him? Seriously? You say he said "stupid things too that were just waiting to be taken out of context". What if he said "I was joking around with Coach Mangini and I said 'Hey Coach, you know, I came out of the huddle thinking the play was designed to hit Jerricho downfield, but I turn around and there it is in my chest', so coach said to me 'Haha, that's Brett, he's going to change the play on his own. Don't worry, just follow along." If I were writing an article, how hard would it be for me to write: "When asked about playing with Favre, Coles was defensive, saying plays that were not designed for him were coming his way unexpectedly. When pressed, Coles admitted that Mangini told him 'That's Brett,' and to Coles' surprise added 'just follow along'"? Obviously not very hard at all. See? I can do it too.
I would love to see a show of hands of how many actually took the time to read what was written and just didn't see a headline and jump to a conclusion. :breakdance:
I'm tired of hearing about this. Coles missed preseason and caught one ball Sunday, so I guess there's not much else he's done to talk about which leads the media back to this. Missing time is the reason he's not up to speed with Favre, I doubt it has anything to do with anything else.
god you must be fuckin smart considering i have ronnie brown in my sig.....last i checked the dolphins werent in the nfc
I like this line from the article. "and he gave the amateur psychologists plenty with which to work" The writer got exactly the reaction he wanted.
