Wait is there actually anything credible that would indicate ANY level of Rex actually being on the hot seat, besides the usual suspects in the media creating controversy out of thin air? I see that the media wants Rex fired, I see no indication whatsoever that Idzik, Woody, or any other member of the New York Jets organization wants Rex gone.

And the idea that the Jets need to win X games this year for Rex to keep his job to me is nonsense, and IMO, would speak pretty poorly of the organization if it were true anyway. Everyone knows this is a rebuilding year. If the organization is actually retaining a coach in a year where the goal isn't a winning record, and planning on firing him if he is unable to win, then the next coach is completely irrelevant anyway, because an organization that ass backwards isn't going to win a fucking thing anyway, ever.

Rex is not on the hot seat because he told an amateur reporter to fuck off. None of them deserve the slightest bit of respect anyway.

They've had good units, but never anything close to an elite QB, WR, or RB. The closest they had was Santonio Holmes in 2010. They haven't had an actual gamebreaker on the offensive side of the ball since god knows when. Keyshawn? My avatar?

I didn't say we didn't have any talent but compared to those other teams we were at the bottom. we had good not great talent, we overachieved.

Please do not cite meaningless rankings and the reason we were ranked so high defensively was b/c of Rex.

Sanchez was developing fine through 2+ years but in his 3rd year we started going backward talent wise. 3 of our top weapons were out of the league in 2012, in 2012 Chaz Schilens was starting and couldn't even make final cuts for Det this year. we had no healthy talent last year, that is the biggest reason mark stunk. mark is not a top QB and never was but he's much better than people have given him credit for and if not you should think rex is an all time great taking such a poor QB to back to back title games.

I think the notion of Rex being on the hot seat comes from 2 straight non-winning seasons and the circus atmosphere (some of which is media generated)

Also ... usually when a team hires a new GM, he will choose his own man that will work within the same sets of expectations, goals, strategy ... not sure why that wasn't the case with Idzik and Rex but odds are not with Ryan on this one.

    Bill Cowher or bust.

I think he's slightly overrated as a coach although he is s very good coach but he'd be the best option and would provide instant credibility.

If rex goes I don't want them to gamble on some recycled NFL coach who's been let go elsewhere or a good coordinator. Give bill Cowher the job and let him build the team how he sees fit.

    It's true.

You really do see the game differently than everyone else.

And you wonder why no one takes you seriously...

Sanchez played great in the playoffs but the Jets loaded up on the notion of so many WIN NOW/CHARACTER FLAWS OR NOT type of individuals and sacrificed the draft process time and again for the likes of Sanchez, Holmes, Edwards, Cromartie, etc ...

in 2009, the Jets picked THREE players and FOUR the very next year including a fullback in the 5th round that Rex supposedly lobbied for ... and pretty much every one of those picks except Sanchez and Kyle Wilson (both of whom underachieve) are off the team.

The gamble of winning now is great but at the expense of the future development and resources for an organization? Any team will pay somewhere down the road.

Rex is a good coach but is now paying the price of Mike T's moves, some of which he had a role in ...

Like I said in another thread, please stick to jokes b/c you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about when it comes to football. if you don't think rex did a spectacular job last year you should maybe pick up a different hobby but I guess if espn or "experts" don't tell you he did a good job then it can't be true, right?

I used to feel Rex was untouchable after 4 playoff wins and 2 AFC Title Game appearances. Going 8-8 and 6-10 certainly is not worth firing a guy over either. However, its more of how those 8-8 and 6-10 seasons went, where you can start to feel uneasy about Rex. If he shows the team is still with him, yet the team goes 6-10 again, I think it can look much better than last year's 6-10. If that makes sense. People keep talking what record keeps him as coach, but I think it is more about the direction the Jets take in 2013. If it is a positive one, he stays.

how many of those people who interviewed for the gm job turned it down and took another offer somewhere else?

i say woody should hire mezzavo. at least he played in the league, and has first-hand experience at what it takes/look for in drafting/coaching players.:metal:

I don't like the idea of letting Rex go.

But is he really the same guy he was at the end of 2010?

And is it just because of 2011 and 2012?

I think that our complete tard owner has given the go-ahead to cut the head coach off at the legs.

I don't want to see Rex go. But he looks like a beaten man.

I so want to see this team shut mouths this year.

If they don't, we'll have yet another short term coach in the saddle for 2014.

Goddamn, I am really starting to hate this team.

Another useless thread by the darkside haters - 5 pages of completely useless drivel from a small bunch of bandwagon tards who know nothing about football or the business of Football.

Hopefully Woody gives Rex a 3 Yr Extension next week just to spite this lame little collection of miscreants.

Your opinion that Chad 2.0 should start for the Jets after years of ridiculing Chad 1.0 makes your opinion useless.

    That's an excellent summation.

I hate that a Phin fan made it.

By the way, fuck Mike Tannenbaum and all of the threads praising him.
