I'm sorry, did you have a counter to the array of reasoned points I've made in this thread or were you just stopping in for a lazy cheap shot with little relevance to the actual conversation?
Hypothetical: What issue would you have if the above employees signed a contract with a work stoppage provision? Under terms of this hypothetical provision they would be subject to as much as a 50% cutback? You still have issues with a 25% cutback with the possibility of being made whole? Other than high tech/start up companies that pay huge chunks of equity to employees, what company on the face of this earth continues paying its employees with no revenues coming in? I think the owners are full of shit in just about every instance in this mess but not here.
If they signed that contract, then I suppose it's fair enough. I haven't seen any mention of it being the case, although I'm ready to be corrected. Your analogy doesn't work, though - the situation is that the companies' owners are simply refusing to do business when the customers are desperate to hand over their money because they don't feel they're getting a big enough share of the profit. It's akin to saying that until the salespeople in Widgets Inc accept a lower commission rate the owners will refuse to accept any more orders from them, and as a result all of the other departments must take a pay cut. It's simply flat out wrong.
Every coach signs that hypothetical contract I proposed above. It comes with the territory, their contracts are fully guaranteed, is yours? Lol I am not even getting into your hypothetical. If mine "doesn't work" although it happens in the real world, while yours is nothing I have ever seen happen in the business world...... In the real world, most non union jobs, the owners don't ask and don't have to lock out. They change pay packages without negotiations. It happens on the retail end of Wall Street, where I used to work, all the time.......... but neither here nor there. From this article:
Really? That's fucked up. How can your pay be changed at the whim of your boss? I stand corrected on the contracts, if they signed up to it then I suppose they get what they get. Still think the Giants owner has a better attitude towards his staff than Woody on this one though.
Yeah they say its the cost of doing business, ie. marketing, keeping up with regulations etc. etc. The big boys are constantly trying to trim commissions, at least they do so at the mid tiered producers. Funny they give recruits much bigger pay packages then existing employees. lol "marketing" costs..
Woody is a Republican so he's deal is to start at the bottom instead of taking the hit himself. Most of the coaches and front office people don't make big money. . What a douche, he thinks he's a tough guy, like his pals in DC. He also got rid of the pensions and 401k's for the coaches. What a douche, this shit is pennies to him. its just his way of flexing some muscle. I used to defend him but these people are not rich like Rex and Tanny. I could not pay my bills with a 25% pay cut, I don't care if they get it back, this is a shitty move. He could wait a month or two, especially this time of the year. The coaches are working their asses off getting ready for the draft. What a country we live in, the rich get richer, the poor get help and the middle class gets it up the ass.
Endicott Interconnect (formally IBM Endicott, circa 2003) a privately owned non-union company making printed circuit boards, furloughed the entire work force one day per week telling workers to take it up with NYS unemployment. Then notified the work force their pay is being reduced 10% across the board. I'm not slamming EI, I'm sure pissing off their work force is the last thing they want to do. I'm just offering this as a real life example of how real life things run.
it comes down to one team did what many perceive as being the right thing. taking the hit for the mess they created and the other team did what woody does. fuck everyone he can at a moments notice. we should not be surprised by this the man has definitely proven himself to be a douche.
