I agree Zach needs to step up his game. I definitely think rhythm is a part of the problem. I also think the organization was slightly taken by surprise with how well and how quickly these rookies/new additions have played and did not expect to be 5-2 at this point. In a convoluted way it has disrupted their plan for Zach. Now with 5 wins under the belt before Halloween JD can smell the playoffs with a slightly easier second half schedule coming up and desperately wants that ‘no playoffs since 2010’ monkey off his back and the team has decided it is best to ride with what is working best for now. The defense has been lights out and the Jets have been able to do enough on offense without putting too much pressure on Zach. In a way this may temporarily stunt his growth. I also think it is just the way things has fallen. He looked great in the fourth quarter in Pittsburgh directing the two last TD drives to win the game. Against Miami they got a break with Bridgewater being knocked and the defense took over without Zach having to make too many plays. In GB they found themselves in a defensive field position battle until the second half when they pulled away and they went into Denver with a similar game plan knowing the Broncos solid defense would cause problems. They were correct plus they had to compensate for in game injuries. We’ll have to see what the plan is this week but I think Zach - while not throwing as much as we’d like to see - is mentally learning more and I’m sure at some point this season they know he has to cut it loose and they are preparing for it …
This is a crazy idea. Please explain to us how Jets fans do not allow the progress and growth of Jets quarterbacks. Or explain what it is you actually mean.
So, anyone who disagrees with Chris Simms is "blatantly ignorant"? And that is because Zach Wilson has, in fact, played so well this year? One would think that the objective metrics would have him in a higher position among his peers. So is it people who disagree with Simms or people who disagree with Noam who are ignorant, stupid and idiotic? I don't see a single, supported, unemotional statement in your entire post. Does that make your post the idiocy that is "harmful to discussion and exchange of information" as well? You can surely believe that Simms is "dead on 100% correct" in what he says, but your opinion does not a thing to validate his position, only your own.
Baffled doesn’t mean what you think it means. I am rescinding my offer to answer your mind numbing questions moving forward.
I doubt anyone here is interested in the slightest way in any offer you have in mind or any answers you may have provided for the poster for whom you are responding. With that in mind I can only see this as just your latest attempt to add nothing to the conversation. At that, you have succeeded quite well.
Fine Ms. Clairvoyant, I'm happy for you that you know exactly what is on the mind of the poster I queried. Your opinion doesn't matter to me.
Once again, the vermin shows up with nothing to add to the topic but a quiver full of rubber arrows for his best personal attack.
That's an average of all drop backs. What about the drop backs where there was immediate pressure/sack?
I was a huge Zach supporter, I have pivoted to being much more critical of his play. There are major concerns, but all of that being said, we cannot assume that he will not look good in any given game, never mind that he will not look good in three consecutive games.
The people Simms called out sound so much like some of the posters here. He called out emotional haters who cherry pick facts. I think we all know a few here who have been posting obsessively cherry picking facts making almost the same exact post for 20 times a day each and every day for the last 18 months. Wayne Chrebet, on his podcast with Sabo, talked about these problem posters a few weeks ago he called them haters and trolls and he said he has one rule never respond to them. It is a beautiful rule that we all can learn from. They only obsessively post their hate for attention and to disrupt and destroy all discussion. We should never give them the attention they want. Simms should listen to Chrebet as we all should. These people are never worth our time.
I know what average means. In this case it's pretty meaningless. You can have a lot of drop backs where you get more than 2.4 seconds (or whatever the figure is for Zach), but a lot where you get less: 24 pass attempts - 12 had 3.0 seconds = 36 12 had 1.75 seconds = 21 57/24 = 2.37 (2.4) seconds Average Pocket Time This is more like what Zach has been facing with this OL. And no, I didn't count time each drop back to come up with these figures, I'm just illustrating the point that the average pocket duration doesn't mean much.
