Heh. Interesting stat on Coles last year is he had four TD's in the first four games and only three in the last ten. He was playing hurt alright, although he had pretty good yardage in the last three games. Keller had a great mid season, picking up the slack, one could argue. But he tailed off toward the end. Some blame Favre. Others think opposing D's played him better as the year went on. Cotch's numbers also went down somewhat toward the end.
As I posted repeatedly last year, the reason GB cut him is the exact same reason cited for disappointment in him for this year's OTAs: he does not have good hands, he drops too many passes. Like I posted throughout last year, I'll continue to not give Clowney much thought -- no matter how fast he is -- until he proves he's gotten over this. But what the OP says only reinforces my opinion that it won't be anytime soon.
They may have started every game, but both of them had games where they were injured on were only on the field as a decoy. They may have had 1 or 2 screen or dump off passes thrown to them the entire game. I remember one game Coles was hurt and he got one pass thrown to him on the first play of the game and nothing else.
You are not entirely correct. He doesn't practice hard, that's his problem. He must not be able to concentrate because he probably does not take practices seriously. I've seen Clowney practice at VT many times and he was always getting chewed out for one reason or another. But when he was on the field during a game, he would make ridiculous catches left and right. In his few chances with the Jets in a game situation, he has made some nice grabs too.
Nah, that's not true. He's made one grab, period, and although it was a nice grab, it was merely one.
If he cant practice good them he wont show much during training camp. If that's the case there is a good chance he is cut or falls down the charts. You have the earn the spot its not like he is going to used a lot based on what him did in college
