I wonder how many position coaches they'll hire before they hire the OC. Not going to attract too many good OC candidates if the guy has no say in who his subordinates are. This team just does not get it.
Probably cause all the candidates hang up or send straight to voicemail when they see Bowles calling.
Hurtt looks like he could be quite the motivator and seems to have a good background....Maybe we suck again and he takes over as DC next year. Anyone would be better than the current paper weight.
If Bowles continues to not hold players accountable or discipline them, maybe Hurtt will put the "hurt" on him and hold him accountable!
Because Woody may be leaving the team for a few years and wants to micromanage a bit before his invisible little brother takes over.
This is the kind of coach we need. One that not only teaches but kicks butt if you don't pay attention. A great hire.
That's kind of what I thought Bowles would be like when I first saw him 2 yrs ago....all big and buff with yrs of NFL experience. Grab some of our players right by the pussy. But it didn't seem to work out that way.....alas
Bears pass rushers have been good the last couple years so I think it's a solid hire. Guy is a tank, he should intimidate guys into performing or throw them in a tombstone pile driver.
