Nothing spectacular out of Fields there but he clearly went through progressions - a big criticism of him.
Not for anything either but Ohio State being up 16-0 and then seeing the momentum swing on that targeting call was a bit questionable. I mean I guess it was targeting but it was a brutal call that took either Arnette or Wade (I forget which one) out of the game. It's tough for a 6'0" guy to not hit a 6'6" guy in the chin with his helmet. Even though I know the rule technically tries to account for that.
Who was on that LSU defense last year that stopped Clemson ? Because I look at today's Alabama defense and I don't think it's much better -- if that -- vs. the one 2 years ago that Trevor shredded. I haven't checked the draft from 2020 besides Burrow, who on that LSU defense was really good ? I know the 2019 Alabama D had Quineen and 1 other 1st rounder, at least.
The LSU game was just like a damn avalanche. The defense fed off the offense running points up. They also had Grant Delpit who was a great college safety and that pass rusher the Jags drafted. I forget his name. Laisson or something? Patrick Queen was a first round ILB draft pick as well for the Ravens. And they have two good young corners as they did last year.
Yeah, I purposely left that out because it could have gone either way (but I definitely agree with you - it was a highly questionable play and moment to call THAT), but overturning that defensive TD with absolutely no evidence AFTER LOOKING AT REPLAY was criminal.
Agreed. I was rooting like crazy for it last year though because I bet Clemson LOL. On OSU this year.
