umm..the guy missed 5 games in the 2007 season and didn't have a great statistical year...but played 2 full seasons before that. 2005: started 16 games, 1458 rushing yards, 12 rushing TD's 2006: started 16 games, 1309 rushing yards, 12 rushing TD's. 2007: started 11 games, 497 rushing yards, 3 rushing TD's Rudi is only 28 years old...and in a report from ESPN's John Clayton...he said that Rudi came to camp in phenomenal shape....adding more muscle and losing a considerable amount of bodyfat. So your analysis of Rudi being "injured too much" is quite far-fetched.
Love your way of thinking, but i doubt it. If we do get Taylor, we are on our way to the AFC championship, write it down!
Mangini is holding his press conference in 2 hours guys-look I don't make shit up I posted a piece that was on The Jets blog and it came from an ESPN affiliate
So everyone here is giving up on Clemens and ready to hand the team over to Ratliff if Favre goes down. BRETT FREAKING RATLIFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is as stupid as the McCain pick. If Tangini does this, I am record, dumbest move yet.
I'm kind of "on the fence"....Ratliff defenitly has shown more poise than Clemens during the preseason.... My only concern with Clemens is that he hasn't shown much improvement over last year...he's still making the same mistakes. If the Jets were high on Clemens...do you think #4 would be here?
the problem with Clemens 314 is he hasn't improved in 3 years here-he's still Mr Happy Feet and still missing open receivers-he's Brooks Bollinger man
Have you seen some of the serious posts on this board? A lot of people here seem to think that Madden trades translate into the real world. ...on the other hand, I did think it was sarcastic right after I hit "post".
I agree, Clemens has not progressed at all. He is still having trouble reading the defenses, and never looks comfortable in the pocket. IMO, the true mark of a good QB is poise in the pocket. Ratliff appears to posess this trait. I think putting Clemens, or Ratliff in a regular season game would yield the same results. Funny thing is, i have more confidence in Ratliff, due to his pocket presence. I'm not saying he's a can't miss, but i think he shows great potential.
Your point being, "hey! he had 2 good seasons 2 years ago! wow what a steal! So....... why was he released? Do we need this position? Dont think so
this post is spot on. One comment i'd like to add is...I believe Clemens hit his ceiling when it comes to his potential...as a result of playing behind that woeful O-line last season....I think he's a little antsy in the pocket...and it's hindering his decision-making. His experience from last season ruined him.... Ratliff, on the other hand, seems more confident....
Chad wouldn't have cost any players at all (he was released, remember), but he obviously cost more in $$ than the Vikings thought he was worth (either his actual Jets contract if they had made a trade, or what he was able to get from the Fins).
