Signs point to you being right. If Minnesota wants another QB for some reason, why not just sign Anthony Wright or Andre Woodson or some other guy who will be cut?
No way that happens. Peterson is a future star back and Clemens does not have that trade value right now.
I think minny would be incredibly short sighted not to move AP for Clemens. I mean in Clemens you have your potential starting QB. AP is a dime-a-dozen runningback. I actually wouldn't even want to move AP for Clemens - minny would have to throw in a 2nd to make it worth our while.
I agree completely. If I were Minnesota, I'd throw in Pat and Kevin Williams just to be sure that the deal is a lock. I don't know though, the Jets might want to ask for another 6th round pick so it matches the draft sheet.
I would have to think the Jets might become the favorites to win the division with Taylor. He was almost as good as Peterson when he was in last year. Of course that was behind Minny's line. Also, don't forget that Richardson was opening holes for him too.
That is a bunch of crap and I am tired of hearing it. Leon is better than Chester Taylor and Thmos Jones and if given the chance to be the primary back will have a great year.
Flashback to 2001 in Patsland: BTW god forbid something happens to Bledsoe are we ok with Brady coming off the bench? And why the hell are we keeping only two QB's? Answer to the first question: who knows? Answer to the second question: Bledsoe's missed 3 starts since taking over in game 5 of the 1993 season. The real answer for us is probably that if you want the Jets to be a good team for the forseeable future we're BETTER off if Favre goes down early with an injury. Not necessarily better for 2008, although who in their right mind would have thought the Pats a better team with Brady at QB than Bledsoe, but better in 2009 and 2010 and 2011.
Probably not. There is lots of sources that the Jets are trying to make a trade somewhere for somebody though. I think the only thing that makes sense, the biggest missing piece right now, is a RB.
Clemens makes sense as the odd man out at the moment. He hasn't grabbed his opportunity and run with it at all and that's a cardinal sin when you're on a roster with a future hall of famer and two young guys behind you, especially if one of them looked like a successful riverboat gambler all preseason. That kind of QB tends to do pretty special things if they get the chance.
Maybe this could explain Mangini saying he's really impressed with the way Kellen has played? I think it was in that article someone posted about Kellen having the #2 spot "locked up". Maybe it was Mangini just trying to sell his product.
Chad beat out Clemens, MN shows no interest in Chad who many on this board thinks makes MN a SB contender but MN wants Clemens? The way talent is evaluated in the NFL is sure a head scratcher.
