For me, the out is a setup route and should be ran in combination with another pattern. For example, the slot runs an out and the wideout a fly pattern or button hook. You throw the route at the beginning of the game to start pulling the corner up and throw over the top later in the game. An out by a single receiver is not a good play in my opinion unless you have a speedster running it and the corner is way off. The only WR we have that can beat someone deep is Coles so why wouldn't a corner sit on an out route? What does he have to lose?

Horsebleep. While the interception was very similar, Chad threw that play multiple times and it was his lack of arm strength that led to many of those interceptions.

We call that play because the "in" with Chad was maybe even more dangerous.

Schott needs to stop calling the Chad offense, and start calling the Kellen offense which should be biased toward slants, in routes and seam routes, all plays that Chad struggled with.

Thats the big part to me. Our O-line played great against a top notch Pittsburgh D giving not only time to throw, but a running game.

They may as well not been in Dallas for as much as they blocked there.

You got it. Until we get a deep threat I would jump every route if I was an opposing Qb.

So the Chad offense is to throw the really only route on the field that requires great arm strength? It was Mannings arm strength that was returned for 6 in last years AFC Championship game correct? And what about Feeley's on Sunday night?

Have you ever thought it is not Chad's offense that he is calling but Schotty's . I would bet that the Jets would be better if they fired BS and kept Chad on to be the OC. I don't see how Chad struggled with slants, in routes, and seam routes. He threw the slant very well last year and hit the seam and in routes well also. I guarantee he could have threw the seam route that Kellen threw to Baker. You can't Blame Chad for Everything.

Yes... They are *deep breath* ROOKIE MISTAKES

Therefore the first year QB will not get crucified for them, and the Qb who was drafted in 2000, will, and deservedly so

It's not the protection that is killing that route for clemens.

    The QB coaching sucks.

You pump fake and go on that route once or twice early, even if you dont hit it, and the corner will never be able to jump the route, because a miss is 6 for you.

The Pump fake opens up, and secures the out.

Been saying this all year. It seems like teams draft QB's and just expect them to be great. Cutler would be much better with a better QB coach, VY has Chow which I think is very positive. Look at what happened to Plummer when Kubiak left the Broncos. It wasn't just coincidence. I think Shotty needs to go back to QB coach and bring in a decent O coordinator.

B.S. probably looked better as a QB coach because Gates and Tomlinson were on the field.

    I'd prefer Dan Henning.

option routes are also finished without chad. he was the smart qb that could understand what the wr was seeing, then he was accurate enough to help the wr, as well chad did have the timing concept. clemens has a rocket arm(which i dont think is so rocket like) and thats good enough for some posters.

Its worth giving Clemens a shot, since he shows promise. It's those that expect him to be Brett Favre from his 1st start that cant contend with reality...I dont think I need to call anybody out on that one, we all know who they are.:shit:

nobody on this site said he doesnt need his SHOT, these are things he lacks, and needs to work on. nobody is calling for his starting job there sunshine. you my friend were calling for chads head back in october, are you happy with the results? especially when chad was not the reason for our tail spin. go predict some games or something, hey i hear there is a really neat john denver site on the web.....go find it.

You just said that having a rocket arm is good enough for some posters, which clearly says you aren't a Clemens supporter because its not good enough for you. Yes, I was calling for a switch. Why not when you are 1-7? He obviously was drafted to be the future...Chad clearly was doing anything but lighting up the scoreboard. Clemens might as well get his shot so we can figure out what we have at QB, but I wouldn't expect you to know something like this....after all, its football related.

And I dont care about your obsession with John Denver or the cool sites he has online...If you like them so much, you can go check them out Rainbow Brite...

im open to the idea for clemens being the jets starting qb, as a matter of fact i dont care if its billy bob thornton, if the job gets done. are you a clemens supporter? i bet it gets kinda smelly down there during games? my bad on the john denver thing, i thought all sunshiners liked his music? my gripe then was our line, not penningtons head on a stick.with our line it wont be long until you are calling for clemens head on a stick, while missing the big picture. please go put me on ignore, arguing with you is like arguing with a 5th grader. how old are you?

No, Im a Jets supporter, and whatever is best for our team. I want him to succeed, but I will not be a full Clemens supporter until I see he can lead this team. He is young and still needs to develop, as all great QB's at one time had to.

Because I dont agree with your darkside/ignorant outlook on the game, does not make me a sunshiner. You would be hard pressed to find anyone on here that agrees with you. It a challange, I dare you to find 5. ( Mr. Electric doesnt count)

Its obvious that our line sucks, but its also obvious that Clemens is taking so many more shots downfield then Pennington, which is the main reason people were getting pissed at Penny and wanted him out. I will not throw Clemens under the bus for continually being pressured and/or sacked. I will if he refuses to get rid of the ball after good protection, or cannot connect with his receivers week after week. But there is a learning curve, and he at least deserves that..

I will not put you on ignore, I get a kick out of reading how dopey some people can be. Dont get me wrong, you are completely annoying, but at least this way I can get some humor out of posting here.

A good attempt to deflect any criticism for you own short comings, but no dice. Read the age tree thread, its all in there

well is it smelly being an entire jets supporter? look i dont get on here to get my kicks bashing others, and i dont care who agrees with me, we dont get style points, and we are all strangers here.i dont care if my gang green popularity reaches 0 from now on, i like the jets football team and will, no matter how many losing seasons we may have to endure.i also cant stand those white brights who think they know football when our record and potential outlook is contradictory to the reality of things....we are 2-9, in rebuild mode, and going the wrong way. if you want to believe things are looking up go ahead...its your problem. i dont criticize you for your outlook i just criticize you for you dislike for those who wont kneel to your blind eyes. if you consider me negative, so what.......the future will reveal the truth. i'm also willing to say well i missed that one, i was wrong, are you? mangini will not rebuild this team. he will eventually collapse and our team will start over. i'll eat my words if i'm wrong. so babble on.

you are obviuosly a mangini guy who believes he will lead us to the promise land..are you not? otherwise why else would you be critical of negativity of our team, from me or anyone else? learn to read.... i said mangini will not lead us to anything. are you willing to put your so called authority on the line and say i am wrong? i doubt it! so the future will tell us if mangini or his system will bring our team out of mediocrity. your opinion is a sunshiny day...no matter how much you deny it. why would people jump into our argument, so keep waiting for your defense.

and why is this topic all about Mangini all of a sudden, weren't we on Clemens???

    you sir, are very funny
