I agree, I think Ainge can do an admirable job. The guy is like 6'5" and 230 lbs. and I think he should have a reasonable command of the offense by now. Clemens playing for us with our playoff hopes on the line terrifies me.

Apparently the coaching staff thinks that Clemens is superior to Ainge -- why? I have no idea, but there you have it. Ainge will most likely be the back up next season... then again Clemens is a RFA and we can keep him with a low round tender, but heck, I can't even make a good argument for why we'd do that.

^ Ainge hasn't played against 1st stringers ever.

I love how fans have gone from Ratliff to Ainge, because the 3rd QB is some great phenomenon that we all think is some hidden gem waiting in the wings. They are 3rd QBs for a reason.

That being said, He probably can't play worse than Clemens.

What people here want is of some interest, of course, but what the CS will most certainly go with is the medical report on Sanchez. If he's at significantly enhanced risk of injury, he will give way to Clemens.

which, unfortunately, gives way to INTs, sacks, and fumbles.

Yeah, Sanchez never throws int's or coughs up the ball.

    Oh wait!

Yep, and its the Bucs we are talking about. Our defense and run game should do the job just fine.

May not be about Clemens being superior as it may be about not devaluing Clemens stock? Maybe... who knows...

    Good call.

An RFA is worth more than someone than is just released.

Is the OP freakin serious? I don't care how many reps he's taken in practice.

KC has been in the league for 3+ years and he looked like a complete disaster in the game vs Buffalo.

Part of the devolpment of any player is having them learn to play with injuries. If Sanchez has never done this, next week is time to learn to deal with his knee issues.

I think Clemens will do better vs Tampa Bay after getting the reps and knowing he's going to play, than just coming in cold vs Buffalo.

Having said that, I'd of course rather Sanchez play. Playing hurt in big games at the end of the year is part of the NFL, you'd like to see him take it on and gut it out if he can.

I say we give MBGreen a chance. It will be fun to see what he can do live in person.

let them both sit and go with eric ainge.he has been sitting and learning the jets system.I still believe that a roookie quarterback has to sit and learn.ainge showed me that he has all the tools to succeed.the jets have to win their remaining games in order to make the playoffs.clemens is not the one to take the jets to the promised land.

I'd rather play Sanchez if he was in a wheelchair than Kellen Clemens healthy.

I dont think he will either. That being said, we have a 50/50 shot that he can play better than Clemens. The more I think about it, maybe 60/40. A back up QB is supposed to be able to come in cold and at least get you by. I did not like what I saw when Mark left the game. Anything happens to Mark, throw Ainge in and lets see how he looks. Its obvious we wont go too far this season (playoffs or not) so lets see if we have next years back up on our roster.
