Everybody learns differently. I'd imagine what you say is true for a guy who has outstanding tools. But IMO the best way is to have a young guy like this learn the playbook until it's second nature. Really have muscle memory take over as far as the drops from center, timing w/ recv'rs on the plays etc. Then when he steps in he is not thinking but just executing.
There are different theories on that. My opinion would be that playing after time on the bench is the best way to learn. Watch the vet QBs. Take notes on what they do well and what they don't. If Clemens is smart, he can eliminate rookie mistakes by doing so. I think it would be wise to ease him into the pros. Defenders play at a whole 'nother speed than in college games, so it may be wise preparing him before he gets his head lobbed off by Jason Taylor.
I have no problem with Clemens riding the bench, but when the Jets are 4-8, I see no reason why he can't start the remaining games.
Depends on our situation. If by Wk 12 we aRE 3-8 or something and Penny is still hurt and Ramsey hasn't progressed than yeah Clemens will start the remainder of the season. Maybe even earlier, who knows at this point, we'll know alot more about this kid by the start of the season.. There is alot to like at this point..
