Yeah...I thought of that during my last post. It is possible that they wanted to beef up the lines first-see Parcells. But then how does that mesh with the selection of Kellen Clemens.
QBs picked in rounds 2-7 won't kill a team. If you mess up in Round 1, a team usually has major problems. Clemens in round 2 was a good gamble, in my opinion. It still could work out, too. The Jets could have a Clemens-Ryan thing and have it work out like the Brees-Rivers situation and the Anderson-Quinn dynamic in Cleveland.
These examples make me comfortable with Matt Ryan. I trust the front office...if this is their guy...go get him.
That doesnt work out well in the end though, because we would have so much money stocked into 1 position and as you saw with Brees and Anderson, both SD and CLE were unable to deal them for picks so eventually one of the two will walk away and we get a 3rd or 4th round comp pick.
I completely agree with you, personally I don't think Ryan is a franchise type QB but if the Jets do then they have to move heaven and earth to get him.
I don't get why the jets would trade up, makes no sense at all unless they really want to lock down gholston. I don't think it's worth it though, there is no chance it's for Ryan.
If the Jets trade up to draft Ryan at #2, ill shoot myself in both of my kneecaps and donate my left nut to Lance Armstrong.....
Interesting i would think if Mangini traded up its for Chris Long who i believe is #1 on the Jets big board but for Ryan i'll pass.

While I can say without any doubt in my mind, Matt Ryan is not a guy I want the Jets to draft, I can say firmly that JetDynasty is driving me up a wall tonight. every post is Pick Mcfadden! or don't take ryan cuz he will bust like Dwayne Robertson!!! Aaahh! moral of the story for the newcomer, don't postwhore, if you response to others posts, is no different than you last post, don't retype it, people hate postwhores. Now obviously you just joined very recently, so you probably just haven't yet been read the riot act, so i'm trying to inform you as politely as possible before somebody rips into you. back to the actual story, anybody know when we will hear updates on this supposedly developing story from Clayton? I'm just curious because the rumors are driving me up a wall, and I don't want to sitting here waiting for 4 days if we are going to have an answer tomorrow...
