We had our one-time shot for SB glory this year with BF and the rest of the FA's--we went for it and didn't make it. I'm glad we went for it.

Now, its time to go back to fundamentals and build for the present and the future. We're half way there right now. No need to go all-in on next season.

I agree, you want a read and react defense set up the 4-3, you want an agressive blitzing defense set up the 3-4......Gholston will be a monster next year if we get an experienced defensive minded coach..

I believe Woody can make everyone happy,by promoting Tanny to Team President and let Cowher bring in his own personal person (GM)....

Pretty much everybody needs to learn to cover when you always drop eight into coverage. I still get furious over the lack of aggression we showed on D the end of the season. We never took the fight to the other team, we just dropped back and tried to react to what the other team was doing. But that's for another thread...

Very good point - but I believe it's more than titles. The Chin wants to control personnel, so you wouldn't promote Tanny and then tke away personnel judgment calls from him.

Joe Benigno is out of control this morning....he want's MT fired so they can bring in BC, Woddy is not an idiot and that's why we all buy his products...

I'm sure he will do what is in the best interest of his investment.

let's take a breather get some lunch and get back after we get more news.

I like the fact that woody is being loyal to Tanny, I like tanny as a GM. I think he has a great eye for talent. I think moving him might be ok but I don't think it is going to happen.. Cower is not the only person for the job and we need to start thinking outside the box a little.. we will see what happens..I know one thing I want Sutton and shotty to hit the bricks..the play calling and the defense couldn't have been worse this year..so ffrustrating

We need a coach with a proven track record, im tired of all these experiments with rookie head coaches. i know three coaches this year are playoff bound. But damn we tried already. Been there done that

The jets have always thought outside th ebox -- how many first time coaches do we have to play with? Groh, Carroll, Coslet, Edwards, Mangini.....i know there are more in our history .... Walton, Lou Holtz......the only big names we have ever had Bill Parcells (brought hope back to Jet fans and rebuilt org) and Weeb ( won title)

Well the only saving grace in this story is it is from Claytn who is not exactly the most reliable source. It doesn't sound good now but that can change in a heartbeat.

    Ehh I'm torn on this.

I really, really want to see Cowher as our HC. But I love Tanny as our GM, he's made only good moves since he took over after Bradway. Tough situation.

Whatever, if the Jets suck again, Tannenbaum and the new Head Coach will likely be fired and then Cowher can come in with his boys and start their own regime.

Yes, Cowher has no right to muscle his way here like that. Woody isn't a good owner, but he is right to show loyalty to a solid GM in Tannenbaum.
