Poor Jeff Blake, the guy had a cannon for an arm, just had the misfortune of being with some awful franchises. Not to say he was Elway or anything, but he was a good QB.

So, all the reports state that we're not interested in giving up #17 as fair value. We're looking to trade back. While PinPoint's trade might be tempting, I can also see why we'd be hesitant to lose this season with TJ while we train his replacement.

What about swapping 1sts and giving up our 2nd? We'd have our WR in Boldin, and we'd be able to use #31 to either take Donald Brown or Jarron Gilbert. We don't really "lose" a pick, and we're still able to address need. The Cards can move up into position to grab Knowshon Moreno, and have a 2nd to address other needs. If I were the Jets, I'd propose the trade with a 1st round swap and a 3rd, but I'd be willing to move the 3rd up. If they don't take it, we have plenty of other ways to address the WR need.

Also, to the poster above, Arizona will likely use its first rounder on a RB. In no way do they not want a RB.

I think they want a net of an additional first. No?

For Boldin? From everything I've read, the price they were asking Baltimore was a 1st and a 3rd.

Yes, but no one is offering that. It's a take it or leave it offer. I think they're a bit more desperate to move him than they've been letting on thus far. Breaston is more than serviceable and they have money committed elsewhere.

No they don't. All they currently have on the roster is Hightower and Edge, who demanded to be traded/released. They need a RB badly, as Hightower did nothing for them at the end of last season.

Thats a good trade offer. Reasonable. The only issue I see now is that he'll demand a lot of money. That is something you want to be careful about since we have doled out a lot of cash last couple of yrs and still need more for a couple of our own players with the next two yrs. If Gholston doesn't work out, it can cripple our salary cap situation since he'll be making a fortune for warming the bench.

I like Boldin and would be excited to see him in NY. If we can get him for what u proposed along with a 4 yr $30 mil deal with a big $20 guaranteed, it wouldn't be too bad.

Yep. We'd have to be awfully careful about how we approach the money issue, but I trust Tanny in that regard to a large extent. If next year is uncapped, it would help.

They definitely aren't set at RB. They have Tim Hightower and an old E.James. However, they did draft TJones (I believe) out of college and he was viewed as a bust by the Cards

    No offers made for Boldin

The Arizona Republic reports that all is quiet on the Anquan Boldin front for now, but Cardinals GM Rod Graves indicated that anything could happen between now and draft day. While teams have been in contact with the Cardinals, no offers have been made.

I'm thinking Boldin's apparent hip injury and Arizona's asking price has teams backing off....I'm wondering if Boldin can be had for LESS than a 1st rounder on draft day.

Makes sense the asking price is astronomical for any 29 year old not on a collision course with Canton. He plays such a physical game (great attribute in a player WR/HB/TE especially) but because of that his NFL 'life expectancy' is so much shorter than a less physical guy like Edwards. Also love the fact you stole the picture from the "friends attempt to see boobs" thread! lol.

Also if the cards are desperate to move him, and we can swap 52 for him, I think it is a great deal, provided he doesnt destroy our cap to pay him.

100% agree with everything you said here......I would also like to add...the fact that B.Edwards and Ocho Cinco (even though Cincy is denying they're shopping him...i don't buy it) are also on the market....doesn't give Arizona much leverage.....I think the price will come down. A 2nd rounder is reasonable.....and I would encourage Tanny to pull the trigger on that deal in a new york minute.

and yes, my avatar is my tribute to Spivey....and her fantastic jugs.

You know how kids google themselves occasionally just to see if they are actually out there? Well how freaked out would Spivey and her awesome jugs be if she googled herself and top of the list is a thread with you and your avatar/signature in it. just priceless freaking out imo.

    nice MB.

Anyways back to Boldin. It also seems to make sense talks have frozen because i think the entire league is watching us dance with the Jags atm. Personally I think it is a hell of a smokescreen, but on the off chance its not, the whole NFL is watching us now, thats for sure.
