I agree. I'd like nothing more than to trade down if we can. However, I'm definitely not going to cry if we end up with him in the end, as I trust Tanny to have done the needed research to determine whether or not the guy's worth the pick.

At this point I just hope the Jets can find a way to trade down and get an extra day 1 pick. There is going to be a ton of solid picks in the late 1st / 2nd round that will make excellent players for the Jets without all the uncertainty that the elite prospects bring.

The way people are talking, we might as well take a QB in the first and say prayer that we do ok next year. :(

I'm not saying I wouldn't take him at 6, I do like other guys better though because of those concerns. I would definetly take DMC or C Long over him at 6 and I would rather move down a couple spots to take Harvey over drafting Gholston at 6.

Interesting comment I saw on ESPN About Cowboys. Cowboys say they wouldnt want to be in the first six picks because it cost to much to sign them. Jones even went as far to say that teams with the first 6 picks dont want them and are constantly trading down to get out of the first 6. Just never saw it that way. Makes some sense though after some of the higher picked guys who signed massive deals and were useless on the field.

1.Ryan does throw too many interceptions
    2.Gholston does disappear
    3.Dorsey IS always hurt
4.Jake Long is probably a better right tackle
5.Chris Long is a 4-3 end and probably a good one. He has no place in a 3-4.

I'd be very satisfied with Gholston, but I'm not without my concerns. I'd almost rather take a corner at this point, or trade down.

I think Felix Jones is a perfect fit for what they need, and I think he's the Arkansas back they're more likely to have their eyes on. He seems like a more athletic version of Julius Jones. They could go a number of ways.

If that deal is on the table, I would image the Jets would be hard-pressed to pass that up, especially since they will be targeting a WR on the first day.

Gholston & Rogers-Cromartie are overhyped ... Guys who did okay in spurts in college .. who had HUGE workouts & moved up the charts.

From Pro Football Weekly draft guide - (take it as you like)

Rodgers-Cromartie: DOWNSIDE: Has faced marginal competition and was not regularly marched up vs. NFL-caliber receivers. Does not play physical and does not like contact. Too thinly built. Would show hesitation grabbing a flag in flag football and does not like to get dirty. Needs to get stronger. Questionable toughness. His tackling deficiency might never disappear.

    (appologize for any typing errors)

The kid has the athletics for the position ... but sounds a bit skittish to me. Only had 37 tackles his senior year as a starter.

That guy scares me as well. I pray someone trades up even a couple of spots. I would prefer Leodis McKelvin, Clady/Otah (whoever the FO thinks is better) - or Derrick Harvey.

Again ... even if I can't get someone to move up to #6 ... I would pefer one of the players above. That is unless either of the Longs are available which won't happen.

    Just one fans opinion.

McFadden is a stud, regardless if we take him or not. He completely dominated in the best conference with by far the best athletes in the country. I saw him play a bunch over the last few years and the guy took over games. He got them to the SEC championship last year by himself with absolutely no help from the QB position!!

Listening to some people on this board you would think he is the 2nd coming of Curtis Enis or William Green or one of the other bum of the month RB's...

He will kick a$$ for whatever team is lucky enough to get him.

Just took a look at the Buffalo Mock's videos of Rogers Cromartie and McKelvin. RC looks like he can tackle alright. McKelvin's got the speed.

Actually, all along I have felt really good about taking a CB at No. 6 if Gholston is not available. These are the best available athletes that fit our requirements right now.

McFadden is a surplus opportunity on the NYJ. I appreciate the fact that he is fast. However, he is a work in progress -- he fumbles too much, he carries the ball in the same arm regardless of which direction he runs in, he gets stopped when he gets hit a bit too easily for my money, and he's got thin legs which I worry about being able to stand up in the NFL.

In college he was a man among boys in a lot of games in which I saw him play.

I don't necessarily think that this experience of his in college is going to help him when he is just another boy among men in the NFL. Everybody is pretty fast, and some of those pretty fast guys outweigh him 75 lbs.

McFadden can't count on an overwhelming offensive line on every play in the NFL. The holes in the line in the NFL are not only smaller they are there for a few seconds less than they are in college.

Will he make the transition when he is no longer a fast fish in a collegiate pond, but another fast fish in a raging river full of other fast and big fish?

    Jury's out.

Choose Gholston if he's there, I say, or just pick the best available CB that the CS likes the most.
