This is absolutely the truth. As a journalist, Mehta eats Cimini's lunch, then craps it out and makes Rich wear it as a hat.
Agreed. How many "sources" does this dick use, pretending that someone actually tells him what he's just guessing. He might as well write that he talks to god, and god tells him what happens with the Jets.
I have a bigger problem with ESPN hiring Cimini than with Cimini himself. Cimini's reputation as a Jets hater was well known before ESPN went after him. When the "worldwide leader in sports" hired guys to be the main beat writers for other teams, they hired cheerleaders. Just look at Mike Reiss, who is practically in a Brady jersey when he covers them. But for the Jets, the network sought out a guy who everyone knows loathes the Jets.
Should have been fired for calling Ellis a "druggie." I'm sorry. I don't have a problem with reporters stating the truth or being hard on the team they cover. Quite the contrary, actually, we as fans are owed that kind of respect. When I was kid and he covered the team for Newsday and even his first couple with the News, I thought he was alright, but he has become a cynical, obnoxious know-it-all who, sorry Soss, deserves to be called out for his lazy, sensational writing. It's really not hilarious. I'm not wasting anymore of my posts ever on this board on this guy again.
I take Cimini with a grain of salt and look at his articles as a total joke. I don't ever take anything the guy says seriously, because quite honestly he would barely be qualified to be the sports editor for a high school paper.
Well said, but at least he gets close on his numbers LOL. Isn't it his job to check the fact presented before writing the article and putting his name to it? Or does he just trust some intern to get him the right numbers and then just run with it?
