Hobbes I am not saying that Geno is the real deal or comparing him to anyone but using your same argument can you explain how just about every team passed on Rodgers and he sat a long time by himself on draft day and then Gbay took him ?
The kind of awful accuracy he displays almost every game. Lazy mechanics. Whoops? Was that an oxymoron? Question is: is Mark an oxymoron?
You're right, he should stop trying to hit open receivers. In fact, all of our QB's should stop hitting open receivers. We had a ton of that last year.... I give up, you win. Your wisdom is beyond comprehending. unbelievable
Call me when its not the freaking LIONS in a PRESEASON game. Like I said, you are trying to celebrate the fact he can throw it to a reciver with no one around him. Thats good for the Jets, doesnt prove anything about Sanchez. Do you think Sanchez can fit a tight strike down the field past good coverage? Because I sure as hell don't have confidence in him to do that.
Please, I have the whole game here in front of me. Direct me to an "impressive throw" he had. He had a good game for his standards and still averaged 0 points. 6 for them and 6 for us. If his good games are throwing pick 6's to rookies than good God almighty.
Youre an idiot dude. The Vikes spent a top ten fucking pick on Ponder and Cssell is certainly not the worst thing to have as a back up. So Geno sucks because the Vikes didnt draft him? Moronic Excuse m e, top 12 pick
Im not a Sanchez supporter ( hahah) but I will say this......and MAYBE this actually counts for something....maybe not.......but I really thought Sanchez seemed like a different guy when he was talking to the reporter ( drawing blank on his name) on teh sidelines after he was pulled. He seemed wayyy more confident. He didnt have that deer in headlights look. Now his pick 6 was fucking brutal and the reason we prolly need a new QB but I got teh TINIEST feeling that he was a man when he was talking instead of a complete homo. I dunno, maybe Im looking to deep into it but I thought his demeanor was different. Lets see if that translates into anything
I think the playcalling suggests that...ive said since Garrard was signed, that the competition mantra, was more or less a "rehab Sanchez ploy" Cmon, 3rd and 15, they dont let him wing it? When they couldnt run it all night? I may be a sanchez supporter, but Id like to see Geno actually get to play QB, besides giving him a handful of easy tosses, whch...he completed.... Hopefully, his ankle doesnt swell up, and he gets the nod next week.
i like what i saw from geno, but we really didnt get much of a sample. his accuracy was good on 5 of 7 throws, but 4 of those completions were first read wide open guys as well. hard to really get much of a look on so few attempts in so few situations. we have loved to see him throw a couple on 2nd and 3rd and long instead of those runs and draws. hard to evaluate, other then "well, he didnt implode"
Im not saying Geno sucks. I support Geno. My point more or less, was that the ,ania here, is moronic. Sanchez goes 10/13, 10 ypa, and doesnt hurt himself on the turf, and its still "this guy sucks" The reason Smith was at 39, is because hes not the polished player he was advertised to be. Hes clearly more talented than Sackelroy, and will eventually supplant Sanchez. But today, aint that day.
yea i do. i dont think he can do that while also eliminated the 2 or so turnovers a game, the 2 or so back breaking plays, and the 1 giant mistake that puts the nail in our coffin but he can make the throws. he could always make the throws. his issue is he cant stop himself from making negative plays
I guess you missed the throw to Winslow on the left sodeline? And the TD throw? Cumberland mayhave been open, but that ball was thrown perfectly pver the left earhole.
I'm not sure I'm in favor of starting Smith out of the game because I think he is potentially the QB of the future and I'm not convinced that this offense, with this lack of skill, is good for his overall development. It might be better for him to take over after the bye. I am also far from a Sanchez hater. I've been a supporter for 4 years and would like nothing better than for him to lift his game this year. Having said that, anyone who praises his performance last night is out to lunch. Last night was the last straw for me and I am firmly in the Smith camp. I want Smith to win the job and don't want to see Sanchez as a starter any more. And I am one who puts little stock in preseason games. But this is a QB competition, so these games matter. This game epitomized Sanchez from 2011 and 2012 and I have enough of that Sanchez. This team can't have its QB throwing pick 6s every other game. The pick six he threw was inexcusably awful. A screen pass? Again? Really? That he could not see that his receiver was hung up and did not throw that away says it all. Then the ONLY thing that prevented him from throwing a SECOND pick six was Winslow's great tackle on that overthrown pass. If Winslow doesn't track that ball and drill that DB, Sanchez would have had 2 interceptions in the first half of the first quarter and possibly 2 pick 6s. Even some of the passes he hit were off. He is inaccurate and careless and I can't sit through much more of this. Smith, on the other hand, looked fine given the circumstances. He was on target. Despite what some people are saying, his footwork was fine. He was in command and he throws a great ball. It seems to me that the OC kept it conservative when he was in the game. I saw nothing that gave me pause . I just hope he is OK and that he is ready to start next week and win this competition from mr. turnover. Sanchez looked like the same player we have been watching. Yes he bounced back, but not before he gave the game away.
