Thanks for the Update and you are right ! But in terms of a top 10 prospect can you honestly say ZW has made an impact ? To be fair, so should Lawrence for that matter Gun to my head I still liked Lawrence before and after the Draft And now Zach has a vastly improved team to work with...thus far he shows how clueless he is . Talented but lacks the smarts
No one is going to fault you for liking Lawrence. You’re not exactly making a hot take. He’s been a perceived #1 overall pick since he left High School. Zach now has a vastly improved team, not many will disagree on that. You can tell he hasn’t made any strides based on 5 plays? That’s where you lose me. I’d give your opinion a little more weight if I knew you attended off season practices and really knew what you were talking about. I’m holding the assumption that you watched 10 min of football and passed judgement. If I’m wrong, Lmk.
You want to homer for Wilson .. Be my guest Let's just say we disagree ..when he returns for the third week of season we see
So why on earth would anyone call a guy who had a miserable first year a franchise quarterback before his second even got started?
Allen and Stafford (while he was healthy) were good in their second years. There are franchise QBs who struggle as rookies, but the jump gets made between Year 1 and Year 2. If it isn't made, you can all but stick a fork in the guy.
I’m not sure how you got “homer for Wilson” from “it’s too early to tell”. If you’re expecting a fully developed ZW his 1st game back, you’re being unrealistic. I do like the agree to disagree approach though.
Can I talk about how well Chris Streveler is playing in this thread, or this this only to argue about Zach Wilson?
If he keeps playing like this I wouldn’t mind saying bye bye Mike White, especially after how he started this game. But it’s still early hoping they both play well next game and make it difficult
Agree 100 percent. Think he’s definitely earned at least a look with the 1s or 2s. Handily outplaying Mike White so far, but let’s see what he does with higher competition. if they try to stash him somehow, someone else will absolutely snatch him up based on his preseason so far, even as a T Hill type.
Streveler looked aggressive and tough tonight while White looked...boring. We should remember that White faced the number ones and twos from Atlanta while Streveler faced the bottom of their depth chart. It also seemed to me that the LaFleur play calls changed from very conservative early in the game to more wide open for most of the second half. I'd like to see if things would be very different next week with Streveler starting and White doing the second half.
Incredible that a guy who has been cut by 3 teams in the last two seasons is gonna be a savior for this team, yet they have already given up on the #2nd overall pick after one year. Is that the next Kurt Warner in the making? Cut Mike White for him sure, hell why not start him over Flacco in week 1. Zach is dog poop. Start Christopher L. Streveler and keep feeding the stereotype. Hell he kinda resembles Ryan Fitzpatrick. Let's get some of that 2015 energy back and oh yeah miss the playoffs again. Being positive and optimistic.
Imagine wishing your 2nd overall draft pick QB was in a preseason game long enough to be dominating future cart handlers.
