100% agree. I’m totally pissed about this. We need a strong running game against them in bad weather. Robinson is a fucking bowling ball, he knows this team better than anyone, and has a huge chip on his shoulders against the Jags. And he rarely fumbles. What the fuck does it take for MLF to use the right talent for the right game. If he does another one of this 70% passing game plans we are fucked.
Two things... This is a direct message to both Zach and Flacco. They obviously don't look for much out of Zach tonite and bringing in SloJoe is tantamount to waving the white flag. I have a feeling Zach's leash is more like a choker than anything. Not sure if Zach has ever played pro ball in NE conditions like he'll see tonite. He watched Mike White ball out against the pouring rain and probably realized that's the standard now for him to either reach or surpass. I credit Saleh for acknowledging the importance of tonite's game and the season on whole. Enough that he wasn't gonna gamble on SloJoe as a backup again. I have a feeling SloJoe's run with the Jets is over. His mentorship of Zach was a complete failure given the results of Zach's play. He really didn't want the job anyway. If a CFL QB can't play in bad weather, his career is most likely over as well. Given his pedigree as a championship winner, he should know what's at stake here tonite for him. If he plays well, some QB needy team just might pick him off the PS and he's good. It may also come to pass that he'll be in the mix for QB 2 depending on how Zach's fate plays out.. Intriguing game anyway you slice it. Adding Streveler makes this game worth watching.
I don’t think it is a message to Zach. I think it is because of weather and an opportunity to create some potentially running plays from WB as some stated. Regardless it is cool he is active and may see a few plays!
Don't know the reason... and I don't care. I hope he gets to see some snaps... either in a Wild Cat style package or straight up quarterbacking. From what I've seen he can handle both.
Nicely said. This a playoff game for us. If there was a time for Zach to have his best game this is it. I’m a bit annoyed we did not activate Robinson to beef up the running game. He would have played light out against the team that traded him in haste.
