    Don't know but you have to figure it's likely although I think chewing tabacco is worse in terms of throat cancer.

    Actually besides lung cancer, cig smoke typically manifests itself in bladder cancer.

    Weird.

    Sorry to hear that. I won't wish cancer on anyone. I hope he can recover from this.

    Stage IV means that it has metastasized (spread to other areas of the body.) Cancers that spread are pretty much always fatal if the spread is at all significant :(

    Lol I know more about it than any non-medical person ever should have to know.

    I'm suggesting that the way some stages are set for certain cancers - breast cancer in particular- makes little sense.

    IMHO Stages I, II and III should all be lumped together as stage I a,b and c as they are likely cakewalks compared to Stage IV, and in any event the pathophysiology of the particular cancer is as or more important.
