Tampa has an amazing run defense. Was going to be hard to run the ball. Will take a few weeks to see what we can do on the ground.
Its the first game he plays for the Jets and against the previous best D against the run. Are people choosing to ignore these things just so they can criticize something?
I won't put too much stock into the woes of the running game. Like it has been said, the Bucs have a premier run defense. The offensive line didn't help open up holes but it's tough when you have such a tough test in the Bucs defense. And again, running league wide has been down so far this week...I do like Ivory because he runs so hard and violent...he will get his...and Powell is a decent back for what he does until Goodson can come back.
Wow, that's some crazy stuff! I have high hopes for Ivory and the running game in general but not impressed so far. I think the Bucs were focused on the run to begin with. If Geno earns a bit of respect in the passing game should force teams to play for the pass more opening up some room to run.
Wow, good find. That's crazy to think of especially since AP had a 70 yarder. For me personally, it was a carry over from the preseason where the JETS OL seemed to struggle creating running lanes. I don't we'll be as bad as we were today, but I am worried about how effective they can be.
   A HUGE bust? Because of one game with a pass heavy game plan?? Funny how Jets fans still just can't be happy even with a win. Christ on a cracker some of you guys are desperately looking for things to complain about. Jets could win the superbowl and people would still be nitpicking.
we need a running game coordinator Marty isn't too bright in the run game get someone to help with that and our offense is fine
Half the problem is that every time Ivory enters the game, he gets the ball, not hard to gameplan that is it.
Bucs allowed 84 rushing yards per game last season Jets ran for 90. Jets allowed 133 rushing yards per game last season Bucs ran for 65. The Jets didn't run amazingly well, but who did in week one? Hell AP opened up with a 75 yard TD run for the Vikes and had 18 yards on his next 16 carries. The Jets ran for enough yards with all their weapons to keep the Bucs honest and to take advantage of openings.
In the last three seasons the eagles finished 13, 5th and 5th overall in rushing. Perhaps it's our players, or perhaps the Bucs extremely stout run defense. One thing for certain is people need to stop over reacting after one game and see if this is still a problem befor we think about silly changes.
couple things - having a mobile QB will assist in taking the heat off the running game. and this offense, with screens, dunks, and dinks, the short pass plays are basically glorified running plays.
15 yards on 10 carries cannot simply be excused away for any reason, it's a cause for concern, we traded a fourth for this guy and he stunk in pre-season and ran for 1.25 ypc yesterday.
Offensive line needs time to jell. Last season the run game didn't start so hot either. We have 2 new starters.
it's still very early and TB had a good run D last year, let's see them against some lesser run Ds before we panic.
Yeah... what part of this don't people understand? Our running game will be fine. It's the DBs I'm worried about. Brady is going to pick Milliner apart like a roasted chicken.
