Not to get involved in all the fun you are having name calling, but the Dude is right.

Two years ago Baker was granted his release to find out how much he was worth. Not a single team offered him more then Vets minimum. He resigned with the Jets.

That was the contract that the Jets renegotiated with him last November.

Now he wants to redo do it 5 months later?

Baker is at best a "decent" TE, who has been very inconsistent.

It's a different situation now though.

I also don't think he was released and then resigned. I think his rookie contract was up and he was a FA, but remember, he went to FA as a relatively unknown backup. It's not like those are scooped up quickly.

Now that he's been starting, his body of work is more well-known. Now, it's pretty easy to see the guy has great hands, but our TE's never get utilized properly as they block first, and catch passes second.

Your right he was a FA.

I agree that he would have more value now. He is off his most productive year. The cap has expanded, and a lot more money is being thrown around.

Still, he has been very inconsistent during his career. One week making a circus catch, next week looking like he is confused.

He just redid a contract, if he is angry about it he should fire his agent, shut up, go out and have an outstanding year.

Then make the contract demands for the big bucks when his contract is up.

Oh, I agree. I'm getting sick of these players wanting to renegotiate a contract that THEY SIGNED within a year or two of signing it. They get paid millions to play a game and they're never happy.
