I'm well aware of who we drafted but thank you for taking all that time to write that.

The Defense was terrible in the first half. Vick holds the ball too long. This is still a bad football team that does just enough to lose.

The best part of the game today was Harvin coming out for us and not having any turnovers

I hope we resign him to a long term deal. Reminds me of Antonio Brown in Pitt. Explosive fast guy that gets great yardage after the catch. Not only that, but our kick return game is night and day now. I can't remember the last time a team squib kicked to us lmao

we don't need to, he's on contract for 4 more years, albeit probably on for a few more million than he's worth at a 10 million dollar cap hit in 2015.

His KR prowess adds an interesting threat, either kick it right to him and risk him taking it deep on the off chance he does a touchback or you stop him before the twenty (or rex decides to get "creative"), OR kick it short and mitigate that risk by essectionally giving the jets 10-15 more yards then they'd get if they touched back, because that might be less than what Harvin would get if he brings the ball out.

Either way, field position looks good, and our O needs whatever it can get.

Agreed. Hopefully this means that in the draft we can focus on QB and OG. And a future LT. And ILB. And CB. OLB wouldn't hurt either. A cover S too. Maybe a P since only we would draft a P.

When you give an 8 yard cushion and then back pedal another 8, it's tough to get beat deep.

You should add Vick. He could had said the hell with it and not got back in after he hit the back of the head.

Don't fool yourself, this team needs another game breaking wide receiver.
I'm still on the Amari Cooper train.
Do you remember when Antonio Brown was the Steelers third receiver?
We need that kind of depth.
Harvin is a great addition, but needs to protect itself from an injury or Harvin going crazy or something.

Harvin looks speedy and explosive, I hope he is a Jet next year. He has good hands, runs crisp roots, and always seems to squirt forward for positive yards when running the ball even when nothing is year. In addition, for years we've been preaching the ground and pound, which means the battle of field position is very important, yet we haven't had a good return guy for a long time. I like Kerley as a slot receiver, but we need more then fair catches, and I've already seen enough of the guy that fumbled twice last week.

Granted it was limited, but I liked what I saw out of Marcus Williams. Even if he is no Revis, given the dog shit nature of our secondary, if the guy can be a capable player, or even a decent depth guy, that's huge for a UDFA. Given that the season is over, I'd like to see them put him out there and see what he can do.

On that note, how did Amaro have no catches today? I can't even remember him being targeted. That is either a problem with MM, Vick, or both. If there is any value left in the 2nd half of this season, its giving our young players valuable experience and evaluating them during live play so we can have a decent roster for next year. Clearly if the Jets are going to be good going forward, Amaro is going to be an integral part of the offense, why aren't we throwing him the ball?

Chris Johnson had a good game, and looked quick. For the first time this year, inexplicably, we were getting him the ball in the air and letting him use his speed in space. He looked effective. That being said, why were we using him on short yardage situations? If we need 1 yard, Ivory should be in. Its fine to ride the hot hand at RB, but you need a little common sense too.

Aboushi actually looked good in the game. Not sure what took so long to get him in the lineup. He held up two weeks in a row against some of the best defensive lines in the game.

When is Rex going to realize he doesn't have the shutdown defense he tried to convince the world he had in preseason and stop deferring on kickoffs? All he is doing is putting the Jets in the hole early in the game which ends up putting even more pressure on the defense. Lord knows what might happen in a game if the Jets actually scored first!!!!

I whole-hearty disagree on this comparison - Brown is the best receiver in the league today. Watch Cooper from Bama play, he's just like Antonio Brown. That TD catch he had, watch Brown run that route. Never in my life have I ever seen Harvin run a route like he did last night.

I didn't say he's the next Antonio Brown. I said he reminds me of him. Similar qualities. Fast, good hands, and can make a HUGE play at any moment. I am in no means comparing the two. I am just saying his qualities remind me of him.

Yeah, I just don't agree with the comparison, completely different playing style. Both really good play-makers though.

Is it me not being used to a lefty QB or does Vick turn the wrong way a lot? Seems like he's often turning with his back to the majority of the field. ( and consequently most of his WRs )

Talking about the need to have 3 good wideouts, Kerley got hurt last year, but before that was a very promising up and comer, and they just signed him to a new contract. Funny about tthat - he was invisible yesterday, and has had imo a very quiet season. I remember Smith Fans complaining last year that Smith performed much better with Kerley in than out. I see no such pattern this year. Is he in fact an adequate #3 wideout?
