excellent second half all around. the first half, we played better than SD, but we were extremely mistake-prone. When we got out of our own way, we dominated the second half. our OL was fantastic today, Shaun Phillips beat us a couple times, but outside of him we did a great job.
I thought it was our best game of the season. Sanchez made some mistakes but after that horrible INT he played much better, quite possibly the best he's played all season. We moved the ball with ease, it seemd like the offense was fluid and came out attacking their weakness. We made some great 2nd half adjustments as well. That is a very high powered offense that just got one of their best weapons in Gates back and we basically shut them down. It was dumb luck they scored their 1st TD and the Sanchez INT was just awful or this game is a blowout. That being said some of those defensive calls against them were awful. The Jammer PI in the 4th Q was a terrible call. Certainly Rivers didn't them either as he played his worst game of the season and we shut down a very good 3rd down team. I was very impressed with Maybin again and Kerley is showing to be a very reliable, smart player.
Kerley has the type of quickness across the middle to open up the field for Holmes, Keller and Burress. I'm happy we let go of Mason
That last play was so bizarre it fooled everyone in the stadium, too. We know it's 4th down, we're cheering loudly for the defense, we're ready for the deep post to Gates, it's a frenzy. Rivers takes the snap, spins, throws the ball out of bounds. Instead of wild jubilation, we all get quiet. Look at each other. Ask the guy next to us "Is that it, did we just win the game? Is there a flag or something?" Bizarre. We won, but we were sort of ripped off of the final celebration. I'll take it, but it was really awkward. Even the players didn't run around and high five each other. The D just sort of strolled off the field and the O came out. SAR I
eric smith played a hell of a game... even though they fucked up on that gates td.... i was impressed
the ball goes out of bounds, I look at the clock and say to the two guys I go to the game with --- "Down to four seconds, time only for a hail mary" whereupon my brother says --- "It was fourth down, idiot"
Best game so far this year, there were still mistakes but the team played better against a good team. Shonn Green had his best game in like two years. If he plays like he did today we will be fine.
yes, it was quite odd...... even the group of us watching at the bar had a collective........ "uhhh... that's it?!?!?!" but I'll take it :jets:
he who laughs last laughs harder than the one had the previous laugh due to the 1st laugh which set off the previous laugh leading to a laugh will stick longer than all the laughs before
Ya I was confused about it as well. We were just standing there looking around until they announced turnover on downs, then everyone went nuts.
Hey Barry, just interested, Cause I feel the same way, do you attribute this to A) Moore B) Shotty C) Sanchez ant the O just clicking..... From my lowly point of view, Sanchez is underated and has to put up with some NYJ political/play calling bullshit
Mangold's return to full strength is probably the number one reason for the improvement of the OL and consequently the Offense as a whole.
