Ok well Geno Smith has better college numbers than every QB in next years draft. At this point of his senior year people were saying he was going to be the 1st overall pick. Then things went downhill. And the same way that draft was weak with QB's so is this one. So it would be dumb to go QB early. Trading for one is best option IMO.
Oh, I've been well aware of this for sometime now. 2013 draft was a great opportunity to establish this. Poor QB draft class in 2013 and we wasted a pick on 2 defensive players in the first round and a QB in the 2nd.
Let's first get an oline. Then let's get some skill position players to go along with Kerley, Decker, Amaro and Ivory. If this season goes terrible you fire Rex. Get a coach (Harbaugh??) take a QB in the early rounds to compete with Geno.
I admit things can turn around still, but I hoped at worst we'd be 1-4 but not look like absolute garbage. If we kept these games close and lost in the last moments, that's one thing. Consistently getting beaten worse and worse is another.
The o-line is the least of our worries. When you WRs that can't win against single coverage and QBs that hold on to the ball, you can blitz at will with no consequence.
We need another legit receiver on the outside. But we have Decker and Kerley and a promising Amaro plus Ivory. That's a decent group of skill position players. The oline is THE biggest problem right now. That can't be disputed. They are poor in pass protection. Does the receivers have issues? Yes. Does the QB have issues yes. But if the QB doesn't have time to stand in the pocket then nothing else matters. We've tried the get the QB first then hope to find a few Victor Cruz's model. Let's change it.
The pocket collapses on every play within seconds of the ball being snapped, not even on blitzes. Its embarrassing. There needs to be a shakeup on the OLine.
I've lurked for a while. A mod can compare my IP to barc and check if we're the same btw. No need to speculate.
Dude they were blitzing on almost every play even when they were up 31. I don't blame them as we couldn't beat it. Don't know what game you were watching.
Not throwing around accusations, but tons of people have a desktop and a laptop or a laptop and a tablet. IP doesn't prove anything.
we need an instant offense, defense altering match up nightmare somewhere on offense. i thought c.j. was it but i was wrong. kerley is nice and decker is good but they don't keep safeties out of the box or make opposing d.c.'s hesitate about blitzing. we need a playmaker pure and simple
