Not that I don't think Fitzpatrick will be a more than capable starting quarterback for this team, but you should probably remember that four-game stretches really aren't indicative of Fitzpatrick's entire career. Ask Buffalo Bills fans.
Those two dolts would make anyone look good. IMO Schitty, er, I mean Schotty wasn't even adequate. He just wasn't as bad as those two clowns.
We must give thanks to our GM MIKE MACAGNAN (aw don't ya miss Jonny the Idiotzik?) He is the brain behind the two (knocks on my head/wood) great hires in Bowles and Gailey If the magic continues for this team this CS will look forward to long term contracts IMO
Pre-snap movement had a use when Chad was there to read the defense's reaction to it. It was just a waste of the clock after Chad left. Favre didn't want anything to do with it, because he knew where he was going with the ball 90% of the time before the defense lined up, and all the guys since him have been in a constant state of "who? what? where?"
Wolf and Casserly hired both Mac and Bowles independently, ie Mac didn't hire Bowles, and i'm not sure if he has the ability to fire him. that's the way it should be imo.. Bowles did bring on Gailey tho. I'll hold my judgement on that until i see Gailey in the preseason. didn't seem like a good hire to me, but with competent play from Fitz, i think Gailey can revive himself here. so far so good..
Macc was definitely part of the hiring process for Bowles, he said in an interview a while ago that as soon as he was hired, he was sitting in meetings with Wolf and Casserly (and Woody, who did the actual hiring) about the coaching search. As far as power to fire Bowles, I doubt Woody would ever give that power to a GM. He never has before.
Geno such a popular guy. We should have a poll who wants him back Even If we lose close game with Cleve I thnk Fitz will be kept on
i believe Bowles was interviewed by Wolf and Casserly before Mac was even hired. so while i do believe he approved of the hire, he didn't conduct the interview, and he wasn't the key decision maker in the process. i actually think the Jets managed this whole process correctly for a change.. would have loved to have retained Wolf and Casserly as permanent consultants for Woody.
It's not that hard - run play fails, should've called a pass play pass play fails, any idiot could see the right play was a run
That sounds about right, its easier to play hindsight 20/20 GM though, wait 8 weeks into the season see who's doing what, that's who I wanted...
Love Chan Gailey. Great coach. And I dont think he "struggled as a HC." His records were bad, but we had shit players and horrible defensive coordinators (George Edwards and Dave Wannstedt). Our offense was actually decent, middle of the pack, which was outstanding for the talent deficiency we had.
He coached Dallas too on the end of their era. He's not bad but, his record is what it is. Sent from my VK700 using Tapatalk
