Benjamin Allbright @AllbrightNFL Follow Chan Gailey got 3000 total yards and 22 TDs out of Tyler freaking Thigpen....in 11 games... 11:20 PM - 13 Jan 2015
I think we could have done alot worse then Gailey. He has a lifetimes worth of coaching experience, and is known to tailor his offenses to whatever players he has. That was Marty's biggest flaw. Geno is clearly a down the field passer and he wanted his to be a short west coast style passer and the team suffered for it. Like it or not, the odds are pretty high that Geno will be starting for the Jets next year. Mariotta and Winston will be gone and the best QB in free agency is Sanchez and there is zero chance he comes back.
We should all pitch in and fly a "Fire Chan" banner over the first day of practice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Stop talking sense man there's no place for it here. It's almost as if people want to be negative now so that if it does go bad they can comeback and say " I told ye he would be shit the day he was announced ". It's so that every failed 3rd and 5 attempt affirms their football intelligence. Going forward they will ignore anything positive and shout all negatives from the rooftops
age discrimination, probably. I did not like the hire when I first heard about it. but it is true that I was thinking about his time as a HC in Buffalo. So I will officially wait and see. because as some here have said, he knows 5000 times more football than I do.
This came out of left field but I don't understand why people are so upset about this one. We are promoting a defensive coordinator to first time head coach and bringing in a very experienced offensive coordinator. I was worried that our offense would be a liability and that any offensive coordinator candidate that was worth a damn would want the head coaching job for themselves. It seems we are getting the best of both worlds.
Holy wow he named 10 retired coaches who are in their 70s, said if your pile of money is big enough, and then said they weren't the list of prospective coaches. Unhappy Jets fan, more like neurotic crackerjack.
Good read. I had honestly not paid much attention to Chan Gaileys career so my initial reaction to his name was this is an older guy who's offense is probably out of date. I was expecting to hear west coast and things like that. To hear he runs a spread offense was refreshing. Also it sounds like he makes adjustments based on personnel which is another big plus. That sounds like common sense but too many times guys force a system that they don't have the personnel for. Lastly I would welcome back the zone blocking scheme. Last time I think we ran that was with Bill Callahan and our running game was in high gear. Hasn't been the same since.
Give it a chance!! You are like a bunch of others on this board. Never satisfied!!!! Sheesh!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Probably. The first indication that Woody was going to continue to do things in an incompetent manner was when he announced Charley Casserly was the guy in charge of the GM search.
