The team Ron Rivera PLAYED on would argue that. Or the '84 49ers.

Panthers have shut up every doubter. Now they will be in unfamiliar role of big favorite.

The ultimate professional Peyton Manning is about to get blasted by the ultimate showboat Cam Newton.

I don't like it, but it's going to be the new way things are. And why no purist will ever bother watch this game again.

Yep, hard to see Peyton winning this one - it could get as ugly as a few years ago against Seattle.

lol Rivera must really keep them in a bubble if Cam had no idea Denver won. You would think one of those players would sneak a look at the scoreboard.

85 Bears would annihilate Newton. They'd knock him unconscious when he would try one of those fancy runs.

Gotta keep it close and see how Carolina and Cam handle adversity in the big spot. That's the key. They're gonna be overconfident too. A play at a certain time can change things in a hurry.

If you were playing under 1985 rules sure. If you were playing under today's rules and sensibilities they'd rack up the personal fouls.

Thing is since mobile QB's were the exception not the norm in 1985 we don't really know how the Bears would handle one of these 'new age' guys like Cam/Russel Wilson.

the size and speed of todays players would overwhelm the players of the 80's.
fridge was 6'2" 335 and everyone marveled at his size. now theres 5 guys on the field at least that big every play.

Yankees could've hit the trifecta by acquiring Dickey

That Denver defense is as traditional as it gets. Yuk Yuk Wade Phillips is calling that defense.

I'm rooting for Peyton but he's playing against a D that is about as aggressive as it gets.

I'm envisioning Cam Newton taking Twitter pics with Beyonce and the Lombardi 10 minutes after the game clock hits zero.

    Great.

Now we have 2 weeks of analysis, discussion and bullcrap to put up with, before Carolina blows Denver's doors off.
