It's an interesting question as to how much better it is to get the ball first under these rules. 4th and 2 from the 30 becomes a very interesting decision.
You would think. And then you get an idiot like Donovan McNabb admitting he has no fucking clue what the rules were after the game...
He still fucked it up. "If the first team to possess the ball kicks a FG, then we are in sudden death." No, the other team gets a chance to tie or win, so it isn't sudden death. Grrr!!!
No kidding. The man loves to hear himself talk, until he doesn't, and then he gets marbles in his mouth like a 9th grader in speech class.
You still want it first. You score a td, you win. It just takes the nonsensical fg set-up when teams get to their opponents 30..
This is the 4th NFC Championship Game to go into OT 1998 ATL / MIN 2007 NYG / GB 2009 MIN / NO 2011 NYG / SF
If you stop the other team, you should be able to win with a FG. Why not? The rules make sense in that way, although I'd prefer a full quarter. As for Eli, he's a good QB. Is he "elite", as in on the level of Brady, Brees, and Rodgers? I'd say no. But he's not far behind.
2 niners break up their own interception yet again 38 is a buffoon that needs to get out of his teammates way
Second time Eli threw it and two SF defenders break it up to prevent the INT It's like an artform. Make it so bad that multiple guys can pick it off.
But the only way the defending team wins with a FG is to prevent the other team from scoring. Thus earning the victory.
