Who's rushing? He already sat on the bench a full season.... Most of the time, when a team drafts its QB of the future (generally 1st or 2nd round guy) they intend to get him on the field within a year or two.... And, this situation we had week 2, is usually the window that teams that are trying to build take advantage of to get their QoF into the starting lineup for good (see Chad/Vinny 2002, Brady/Bledsoe 2001, Manning/Warner 2004, Cutler/Plummer 2006).... When poor play and/or injury strikes the incumbent QB, that is the CS' opportunity to instill their guy into the starting lineup without dividing the team... It'll be harder to do that now that Chad is getting healthy.... The way I see it, Mangini is a little intimidated by the NY press, and was too afraid of a QB controversy to make the move he so obviously wanted to make when he drafted Clemens in the 2nd in 2006, and made the QB competition open going into his first training camp....
There is only a QB controversy to some fans, not to Mangini. For right now Pennington is his starting QB and it is because HE thinks Chad gives him the best chance to win right now, not because he is afraid of the media.
I thought this was thread about CP looking crazy when he scored. Does every thread have to turn into this BS, CP vs KC, season is over, insert KC, etc? Give it a rest it's week freakin 3. Enjoy the damn win
3rdanddraw you are not a true Jet fan to me. Just my opinion. Take it for what it is, an opinion. Just like I take yours for what it is. An opinion. Chad is a great QB who wins games. He had two TDs, no INTS, and moved around well yesterday. His 3rd down completion rate was simply awesome, and the offense was clicking as a unit. Say what ever you want, but the Jets QB had a very nice game and they won because of the offensive play. If you are going to critisize anything critisize the freaking defense. Not the QB who had two TDs throws, ran another TD in for a score, and drove the oline consistantly all over the field on the phins all day. Choose another week to try and drag Chad through the mud because the more I read your pathetic posts, the more I want to puke. Chad, as the Jets starting QB, a football player, and a person deserves much better then you as a fan.
I guess. Now you are saying, that Wins don't matter. Completions Don't matter. Touchdowns Don't matter. (He only had 3 yesterday...) It's all about the arm stregnth bayyybeeee.... Tell me, How have Bulger,Rivers, Leinart, Green, (all QB's tht the naysayers would choose over our guy,and almost everyone not named Brady, and Peyton Manning) looked in comparison, so far this year ?
That could be said for quite a few people who call themselves "fans." I have no doubt whatsoever that people actually want to see CP hurt (we already saw proof of this) or we lose just so KC gets playing time. I don't know whats going in in NY, but look at the game, we are up 31-13 and the crowd is dead silent... When they pan around the stadium in the 4th, half of it is empty already... when we get a win or play well it's like a golf clap, but when we lose, people get ready to rip players apart. There are more threads when we lose than when we win, hell even when we win, CP still sucks ass, gotta love NY
There's a serious Chad-Man-Love-Mobile running through this site with RDriven at the helm. Yes...he had a good game...but not a great game. 124 passing yards is something to be happy about? I don't think so. Those are the stats of a QB that doesn't lose games and I think fans are really ready for a QB who WINS games. Get it?
Thats funny, same crap was said the entire last season. Anyway, I will come back in week 14. Just like last year, my money is on Chad and the Jets having a great year. Cya in 14.
The season is still early. Do you really think that Pennington will have better stats than those guys when it is said and done? We actually have to play against real teams this year. And please don't mention this stupid passer rating stat again. They were laughing at this on Inside the Nfl this week. Please don't insult yourself to even compare Pennington to the guys who are below him. ROFL put down the blow. the only reason? a future HOF RB and a top 5 OL in the league(when we had thomas, mckenzie, mawae, and before fabini blew) and a defense that wasnt amazing. but we had a great TO Ratio for two years when we were legit contenders. but yeah your right it is all chad. penny looked best with hackett as the OC so I guess Hackett deserves shottys job too then right? wow.......
^see previous post...Chad is the best "not-loser" in the league...he is not a winner. He'd be perfect in Chicago/Minny/Baltimore.
The we can try to trade him to them next year so he can be perfect! On this team with this defense he has to put up some points!
Insult myself? You're the one denying reality. And Yes, he will have better stats . He should approach his 02 stats, if the Oline continues to improve. Right now it looks like 25 td's, > 12 picks. Possibly under 10 picks. How many Quarterbacks, playing right now, have been more successful when they were on the field? Not Carson Palmer. Not Marc Bulger. Not Trent Green. Not Drew Brees. All the guy does is,Win 10 games a year,Make the playoffs. and on the way picked up a division title (How many did we have before He won one?).
He put up 3 Tds yesterday? He put two on the board against NE, before getting hurt, and the defense allowed NE to go 10 minutes with the ball.
We played the Dolphins and he threw for a scorching 124 yards! Lets see what happens when we play the Bengals, Giants, Steelers, Cowboys, Eagles and Patriots again ok. First team that has to kick looses!
