Facts are facts. Chad may be a brilliant football mind, but he is an abysmal football body. he is big, slow setting up, and he has a noodle arm. I am tired of hearing about: 'all Chad does is win.' How many of those games is he responsible for actually winning? How many games have we watched where Chad has led us to victories against superior defensive teams? How many other games could the team have won with a more athletic, stronger-armed QB. We have no way of knowing. What I do know is that we have not won enough, and he has been here.
Spot on. ....and hes getting his WRs killed on lovely loopy passes. That last drive just padded the stats, nothing more.
you tell ME to shutup? your out of your mind to think that pennington didn't have a terrible game that exposed himself for what he really is
nobody really cares about those things if he can't be a playmaker. and im laughing at the thing about playin with heart. thats gotta be a joke right? I mean come on. every player plays with heart haha
tell me this.....are you saying that having more than 2 minutes left in the game is not enough time for a quarterback to drive his team down teh field? well.....maybe for chad that isnt enough time lol
and thats FUNNIEST THING IN THE ENTIRE WORLD WAS THAT THE LOWLY BILLS HAVE 7 STARTERS NOT PLAYING ON DEFENSE!!! HAHAHAHAHAH CHAD YOUR A LOSER
I didn't read any of this thread, but the title is wrong. Chad is still the quarterback because he has given the fans hope of winning the big one, but sadly those hopes are fading and fast.
I hate to say it man, but you're coming off as really corny. The fans who want Clemens are hardly being insensitive to Chad, but just because he's a great guy and was good once upon a time doesn't mean we should favor him at QB if we think he's pissing all over the field at the moment.
???? uhm, you need to lay off the crack pipe. 2 interceptions, 1 causing a TD, other preventing FG. Not to mention 25 passes less than 10 yards.
That's the problem with this franchise, THERE TO NICE. Everyone is worried about the feelings they will hurt instead of doing the right thing. Chad is a nice guy and we all wanted him to do well, but sit him down and get the young gun in there. ANOTHER WASTED SEASON IF SOMETHING DOESN'T CHANGE SOON.
I am a corny guy, but in all seriousness, I believe Chad has been a bright spot to the horrible 1-3 start. He looked bad vs. Buffalo, but that was partly due to playcalling. However, after saying all of that, if Clemens came in now I would be more comfortable with the decision than I ever have been. I still think Chad can succeed elsewhere though, keeping him as a back up is a bad move though. If Clemens gets hurt, then Chad comes in and gets hurt, and all of a sudden your 3rd string is starting.
If you put Chad on a team with a top 3 defense, yeah, he can go deep into the playoffs, and maybe to the Super Bowl.... In that situation, he can dink and dunk all he wants, and just avoid the TOs, and win ballgames..... For us, his time is up.... I think it should be obvious that Chad's no winning anything big without an excellent defense.... So what's the more attainable solution? Replacing one player (Chad, the QB), and trying to attain someone who can help carry this team, or replacing/revamping the entire defense until somehow it's built into a top 3 unit? I think the choice is clear....
Wow, you guys are all geniuses! You've found the secret to success in pro football! Start the backup QB! Unbelievable! I'm truly amazed that no fans in the history of football have ever thought of this one before. Groundbreaking, you people are. Don't let anyone ever tell you you're just a bunch of morons on the Internet. No, you are innovative football minds. The backup QB. Who would have ever thought of that? Certainly not I.
the browns had the guts not only to sit frye, but also traded his azz to seattle and salvage a draft choice. they turned the team around with that move. cut noodle arm and ship him to the bears, k.c, any team that will give us future picks in return. the flag girls can throw farther and harder than him. enough of the dink and duck!
Let's be perfectly honest. It's much easier to get rid of Charlie Frye than Chad Pennington. Frye has never had success in this league.
Some of us want to see the team win more than we want to see ball travel through the air 45 yards regardless of who catches it.
Did Chad give you the feeling that he was still a winner this Sunday? He did nothing against the worst D in football!
