Maybe this the same source who said martin is gonna retire and pouha is out for the season. anyway this isnt surprising mangini was never gonna start a rookie week 1 . he will wait till where out the playoff race before clemens gets snaps..lets face it everyone knew ramsey was a scrub to begin with so chad if he had anything left would have won by default.but this isnt offcial till i hear it out on mangini mouth.
Hmm won't believe this until its official. It should be Chad and if it has not been decided they need to do it sooner rather than later as this is only going to cause all sorts of problems.
Great news! Of course it was never a question of whether he couldn't win the job, but can he stay healthy enough to keep it. Either way I'm pleased, he gives us the best chance to win ball games for now so lets throw him out there and see if he can complete his comeback story.
This was to be expected, his shoulder is fine when throwing but the key will be when he gets hit if it can hold up.
I think he is going to have a good year, the only thing that bothers me is last year in preseason I thought the same thing
OK, but I'm not expecting very much. Either the injury bug or the ducks will arrive at some point this season, at which point Kellen takes over.
Last year was very different, he wasn't throwing until a few weeks before camp, didn't practice until a few weeks into camp and didn't play until the 3rd preseason game. This year he was throwing in mini-camp and ready for the start of camp and should be starting next Friday at TB.
That's one Huge IF.... Chad appears to be throwing more over the top this year too. Hopefully, that can add some speed to those downfield passes. That he's looking better than a rookie or a underachieving Vet should surprise no one. His recovery from his second surgery is a blessing indeed but like JUNC said, lets see if he can get thru ONE full season first before jumping for joy here..
Surprise, surprise. Well not really. I don't mind sticking with Chad for the short-term. I'm sure Mangini doesn't fall into the line of thinking that Chad can be counted on being our future starter -- speaking of beyond this year. At least I hope he doesn't.
so now it's official  100% right choice...HOPEFULLY Chad can start for us for another 5-6 years and we'll get a SB within that time.
Well it's not really official until we hear it from Mangini but it seems to be the way things are breaking. If that is the case they really have to stop this whole open competition charade and get the reps to the correct players. I have to admit, I am really surprised by his play and never thought he would be anywhere near ready to go. Unfortunately, as others have said, I'll be holding my breath every time he is hit....
Just finished reading up on this as well, I just hope the cs keeps a pitch count on chad, you don't want to overuse him in tc or the ps. He's the starter now let's try and keep him healthy and not make the same mistake the previous cs did with chad. I'll be rooting for chad but i think this whole season we all are going to be walking on eggshells when it comes to him getting hit.
Not surprising to me. I still like the way our QB sittuation is looking right now. Honestly always wanted to start with Chad expecting little to nothing out of him and with both Ramsey and Clemens on the bench. A veteran with experience and a strong arm, and a promising rookie. I like it.
That's gunna be the case for the hundreds of thousands of jets fans in the US (and out of country)... I'm sure the predictions for "chad goes down in week ___" will start up soon
Its too early to make this annnoucement, I think. I hope that Chad is having a good camp, but I think that we should get through a few more practices before we name a starter.
