The only thing that gets me off of Smith at 2 is he reminds me of Tavon Austin. At #2 you are hoping for a player that can give you elite production for 6-8 years; can you get that out of a receiver his size?

I think Andre the Giant was the OG freak

I could go into 7000 words but it’s a waste

We like who we like and why we like them

I liked Randy Moss because he made John Madden speechless for one of the few times in his life.

Never ask a freak rookie WR if he wants to try one of the turducken legs you are showcasing in the locker room on Thanksgiving for post-game interviews. You are going to be short a bunch of turducken legs shortly thereafter and no interview out of it because it's hard for even a freak to talk with his mouth full of turkey leg.

    Well that was disappointing.

    Najee Harris with #23?

you know, I was watching g for this too, and he did seem like he was going through his reads

I don’t know....I am SO hesitant to take an Ohio State QB....I know each player is different and previous QBs don’t necessarily have anything to do with Fields per se, but there IS something to this. That school has been a football powerhouse for a long long time. They NEVER produce NFL quality QBs. Why? I think it’s because their recruiting and system is based on the run game, a dominant OL, and they are maulers. It’s just their DNA. Maybe it’s how they recruit. Or how they teach and coach the game. But I don’t think it’s coincidence.

so not to say that a kid like Fields can’t succeed in the NFL, but he would be the definite outlier. And most of the time when he’s looked great, it was against shit defenses that his team was able to overpower. He did look very good against Clemson, but he shit the bed against Northwestern, and he did t look amazing tonight. Not terrible...and he wasn’t the reason they lost, but he also didn’t flash as much as he did against Clemson.

    so I’m not really convinced...

And at #2, I want a sure thing...or at least as close to a sure thing as we can get in the draft, and I’m not sure Fields is it.

he may turn out to be great, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he didn’t.

man JD has a tough decision to make, that’s for sure

I don't want Smith at 2, but maybe the dolphins will at 3? I don't see JD using this pick on a WR.

Steve Smith proved that for Carolina.

Still taking Fields at 2 if I’m JD.

I like Fields but I also like Lance and Wilson. I wouldn’t be mad if we traded down from 2 and took a non-qb and traded up from 23 to get Lance or Wilson.

As long as we draft one, we need a QB

I think he would be exactly what the Fins are looking for at 3. They need to get Tua as many weapons as possible.

Great win and Najee Harris would be a great pick at 23, if he is still there

The “any of 3 will work” strategy is what led to Mac trading up blindly to 3rd spot in 2018 & taking Darnold.

How do you feel about Lance in term of upside? I think if Lance played with OSU, he would've been a top 3 pick.

I see some hints of Donovan McNabb but not enough of a body of work to draft him in the 1st IMO.

2 pointless wins have butt fucked us in the end.

    Fantastic.

We won't be taking Fields at #2 and I wonder if the clammer for him will have died a little after that game, injured or not.

On the other side of the field, you have a guy throwing for 5 TD's entering the draft and I don't think I have heard anybody mention him at all, not even once lol
    40 TD's 4 Ints 4k yards 77% acc

Not calling for him to be the pick but just wondering why he had never been mentioned by anybody previously or earlier in the season?

I don't think he is getting the press since when he goes to the NFL he is not going to have a team around him that is loaded as much as the teams he plays comparative to how he has it now. Rough guess I am thinking they will have 5 1st round draft picks on offense and a few more in the 2nd.

Jones will likely go in the 1st but that is a just the stretch teams go through for a QB

It said on the match highlights I watched just before that post this morning that they would have 5 1st rounders, so you are bang on the money.

Would he do for us at the late 1st pick or the early 2nd rounder or is he really a product of the system?
