Undersized is a combination of two words. Under, and sized. Total size is your height from the floor to your hair and what the scale says when you're standing on it. Under/over/average are just what they say. Leon Washington is short for a football player. His weight is probably about right for his height (I don't know his actual weight.) But that doesn't change the fact that he is short, and therefore undersized. His height is both a curse and blessing. He's at a disadvatage when someone gets their hands on him. He's going down. His advantage of being smaller is that he's learned to use his smaller size for agility. He can dance around, and make guys miss. Given his height, he needs to do that to be successful. Again, I like Leon. I've got zero problem with him. However, it doesn't change the fact that he is undersized.
"I'm 5-6, but I'm also 207 pounds and play like a running back who is 6-2, 250 pounds."-maurice jones drew that kid is a beast...best rookie back last season...i enjoyed watching him last season(not so much at the game agains the jets) his legs never stop moving
Frankly speaking Cedric Houston was not a very good runningback. He was a B or C class prospect coming out of college and many observers felt that he was just as likely to be an undrafted free agent as drafted late. From his perspective the Jets just kept bringing in back after back (Blaylock, Barlow, Washington, Jones) who was going to be in front of him on the depth chart, meaning he was going to have to earn every carry he got and even then he wasn't going to get much unless somebody screwed up or got hurt. Then you have his production, which was consistently poor, and his medical history which was a sad story (not his fault at all) and things weren't going to go his way. So he moved on. Not a bad move in my opinion, as he's still relatively healthy and can find something better to do with his life. Football chews people up and spits them out. A few smart people spit football out instead. This looks like one of those occasions.
