If he's signing the tender it means he can run. We'll see how his workouts go. Then again, he could be part of a package deal. We might have gotten the ammunition to trade up without hurting the team.

Why would he be concerned with evidence that his opinion is wrong?

Good, now he could be used for trade bait.

There is no way we will be able to get a 2nd for Leon. We just traded for Santonio Holmes for a 5th round pick and Buffalo cant get anything for Marshawn Lynch, who is a much better feature back and has much more potential then Leon.

Obviously both of those players have off the field issues, but Leon has just as much baggage with him coming off a compound fracture. We would be lucky to get a 5th for him or even a conditional pick in 2011.

At that point we might as well keep him for one more year and hope he returns to form.

I'd love 2nd or 3rd out of him, but the million dollar question is: Who in the world will pick up a RB in his late 20's, just coming out of a major, MAJOR injury, and cannot even pass physical as of now? I just do not see any taker in this.

He's signing the tender has to mean that he is able to run. If he can run then he can probably pass a physical.

If I were Leon I'd sign the tender even if I couldn't run.

What does that do for him right now? That tender doesn't expire with the draft and it's all the Jets are going to pay him. Signing it would facilitate a trade since the Jets would officially have his rights, but no trade can be approved unless he can pass a physical. From his perspective, it's pointless to do it unless he can be shipped out to another team where he has a better chance of getting more than his RFA tender is worth.

How about we do them a straight swap, Leon for Lynch? I reckon MT could sell that.

It's funny how things change so quickly on this board. A few weeks ago no one was willing to give up LW w/o getting a 2nd round pick in return. Now I see posters willing to give him up for a 3rd, 4th or 5th.

Lynch has a shit-ton of legal problems and injuries. Holmes was the more expendable of two players in the middle of PR shit-storm for a team that needed to make a "moral move".

Leon is recovering from a major injury but aside from his contract problem, no off-the-field issues on his name. Some FO guys see him run a couple of times and he's fine.

Remember, the 49ers, the Phins, and the Patriots were all looking at him earlier but backed off because he couldn't run at the time. I'm guessing that has changed which should lead to some increased interest.

If character flawed elite receivers go for 2nd and 5th round picks, then a change-of-pace back who is a pro bowl KR will go for somewhere in between.

Leon is replaceable, as much as I love the dude, he's replaceable.

I say keep him. Enough with the trading him for a 3rd rounder crap. Lets hopefully see him return to form this year.

I remember going to games last year (103!) and watching jones go up the middle and fall two feet everytime and then Leon coming in and picking up eight yards every time. The guy is a weapon and he got hurt. So what? I dont understand how some guys can be so quick to write him off..yeah his agent is kind of a dick.. the guy has been a good team mate and is a stand up guy. if he isn't hurt let him come back and just add one more weapon to this arsenal we have...and the draft is yet to come...good things....

I saw we trade him. Enough with this keep a guy who doesn't want to be here and burned all of his bridges within the organization crap.

No at least a 3rd but I really feel that we should keep him and just trade his crazy agent! I'll take a cheap cigar for him!

Leon can be a great fit at RB this year with Greene's pounding style and LT not being as fast as he once was. Leons speed makes for a great change of pace for us.
