good, lets see what he can do. hopefully either he or mark steps up and works well within this system. or at least the other can swoop in and save a few games if the other fails. it won't light the world on fire, but its smart, he WAS about to start last year before getting hurt. he should be decent a real help certainly.
It's funny how many non PSL owners almost relish in the failures of the organizations failures just to justify their non purchase of a PSL... jftr, I have already made my money back...so yeah, don't worry about the PSL owners..we're doin just fine. Gotta love these ticketmaster "perks" Thank you Beyonce!!
did people expect us to sign tom brady, aaron rodgers, peyton manning to compete with Sanchez. People expecting the jets to go crazy in FA are delusional. We are cash strapped team in a slight rebuilding mode. Accept that Garrard although not a sexy name provides great competition for Sanchez.
Us non PSL owners are just gloating at the fact that WE didnt waste our money. We all make bad investments some worse than others. Enjoy the season.
lol...How is an investment bad when one has already recouped their PSL $$. Isn't that the reason of an investment? "Don't be bitter, I hear that honey resembles a critter I heard she likes the two on one like my man John Ritter"
Solid move. Doesn't cost us picks or a lot of our small remaining cap. He can be a solid veteran presence, he can push Sanchez and even win, and he can fill in for Sanchez at the drop of a hat. Like the move.
Agreed... While he isn't an "A-List" QB the guy has enough experience to know what to do and fill in or become the starter if need be.
It's a good signing. Gives us some competent competition for Sanchez and somebody who will definitely be coming in on more than a play by play basis if Sanchez sucks again. The other really nice thing is that it is not any kind of future move at all. There's no downside a year or two out from the signing because nobody in their right mind expects Garrard to be around that long. That means the Jets are still fully focused on bringing in the next franchise QB as soon as they can divine who that is.
The combined release time of our current QB's is enough for N. Korea to build technology to reach the US with a nuke. I don't mind the signing - just wanted to try that failed joke one last time.
What's so funny? You give Sanchez props for his two starts last year that were good like they are indicative of some upward trend. I'm no math wizard, but I know 12% of the time ain't good. Twice Flynn has started and he has a 9:2 TD to INT ratio, including 6 in a single game. That's one shy of the all-time record. In his limited opportunities, he has performed. No garbage quarterback can throw for 6 touchdowns. Pretty hypocritical to flame that poster's Flynn idea, without at least saying he's under contract and you don't think the Jets should give up assets for him. Otherwise, it's just you thinking his outlandish idea is worse than yours (that Sanchez is good).
This move smells of Rex bringing in the 1 guy that will allow him to go with Sanchez for another season. Wow, I hate this move.
Glad to see us sign Garrard. If he can shake the rust off and stay healthy not only could he be a substantial upgrade but no longer will our starter be at best the 8th best QB in the division. Maybe we get into the top 5. Now we just need a 2nd-4th round flier developmental QB and we can cut Sanchez on June 1st. I am hoping for Matt Scott.
