Let me try to help.... Everyone on the field blocking for him will be larger and faster than most of the kids he played WITH in college. If you said Veedik kicked in a dome in college and might struggle in the northeast winters u would have a valid point. Leg Strength and Leg Accuracy are measurable that are NOT impacted by the other players on the field or level of competition.
It is silly, but its not really about the vikings kicker, its about how kickers should be scouted and attempted to forecast.
I watched him a little tonight, dude has a hell of a leg. I don’t think it matters if he kicked in D1 or the Denmark beer league. He’s a professional kicker and miles better than anything we got
These arguments wouldn't work for quarterbacks, and they don't work for kickers either. Yes, Vedvik's teammates will be better, but he has to be better too. Also for what it's worth, I like him and may have traded for him if I were GM.
Really? Didnt you ask why we dont have a kicker? Since there are many out there? Well some teams carry an extra leg at camp, to create comp, doesnt that explain why? There are only a finite number of Ks worth signing. More than a few will get cut. Its exactly what youre talking about
In the line you quoted, I was simply asking why kickers shouldn’t be held accountable the same way any other player would be. I thought that would be pretty obvious, you know, based on the words that I used and the order with which I used them but...
Hmm, thought you asked. Which if you didnt would mean I was wrong. One thing I'm not, is a sarcastic POS if someone misquotes me. Especially if I was like you and wrote total nonsense most of the time. Grow up already
Slinging insults is usually what happens when one knows they’ve lost. And for what it’s worth, you quoted me, then proceeded to arrogantly tell me what I was talking about, and you were wrong. Wouldn’t that make you the POS?
one good season, which gave him lots of opportunities due to out offensive woes. sure it's impressive he landed so many 50 yard FGs but also without being on the jets he would have never attempted enough to break the record
Here are the two responses to you on this from this POS. Now wheres is the arrogant reply you imagined in your head? How about the insults that were slung your way? And these made me a POS how? Lets see if you're classy enough to apologize
Breaking news, this just in: our kicker still sucks! I was so tired the other night that I even forgot to tape the game vs. Atlanta. I found out the following morning that Shoe Booty continues to impress . . . and our kicker still sucks! I was watching a bit of the Seahawks/Vikings game last night and out trotted Jason Myers. So what happened, you ask. What happened! I'll tell you what happened. I could feel the chunks rising. Fckn guy makes the Pro Bowl, but he just had to go! So the Jets didn't want to pay him, OK. I'm curious to know what was on the proverbial table and what he got from Seattle just so I can get some relief by rubbing sandpaper all over my face. It's conceivable that Catanzaro can mean the difference between making the POs or sitting home. I'm shooting way too high, I know, but it's still conceivable, right? It happened to Chicago, am rigggggggggggggght. Where's my crowbar? I heard Catanzaro got locked out of his car, and I just thought I'd . . . "help him out".
More apt to see breakdowns on ST protection in college over the NFL. I dont think I've ever seen where its harder to kick in the NFL over college. Its also how they develop, they dont stop when they graduate. There are no tried and true rules that you cant be a better pro than collegiate athlete.
Haha, LMAO. Proves what I know. Like I said, I didn't tape or watch the game but I had no idea he took his bat and ball and went home. The old man was watching a clip on his phone on Saturday night and said the kicker missed so I assumed Catanzaro was still here so I reamed him. Oh, well, he needed to be kicked in his ass anyway so I've got that much going for me. When I posted earlier the thread title did NOT say he retired. I may be crazy, but I ain't that crazy. At least I didn't think he was Curley Johnson! Still funny, though.
He took his bat, kicked the ball and couldn't find it.... You can edit your post to Bertolet in place of cat piss, but he may be gone before you get to it...
