Nice...Making personal attacks in the main jets forum just because people are giving me a hard time in the BS/Trash talking forum?

The problem is that you're investing so much money into this one player that we need to make the best use of value at that position. Since we already have Leon, Harvin's value is diminished for us; there's no real reason to go after a guy who projects to be almost the exact same as a guy we currently have. The only way Harvin's going to succeed at the NFL level is in the Reggie Bush/Leon role, getting touches through running and recieving short passes and making things happen with his legs. This on top of his injury concerns make it so that there are a lot of other players who hold more value than him for the Jets.

By the way have you ever seen Jeremy Maclin play? He's essentially Harvin with more qualities that lead to him projecting better as a #1 receiver in the NFL due to his skillset and mentality. He is better at blocking downfield and can actually release himself from the jam off the line, as well as being able to go over the middle on a consistent basis.

Don't get me wrong, I like Harvin as a prospect, but he's just not what this team needs. We need a guy who can eventually project to a #1 receiver, not another Leon. I love Cotch, but we need another true receiver, not a hybrid like Harvin. If we get Maclin, Nicks, Robiskie, or another true receiver in rounds 1 and 2, then we would have a decent top 3 with Cotch and our pick splitting out wide and Stuckey in the slot.
