Actually, he's changed his stance on that. I saw it someplace that all he wants is to get on with a good team and ride the pine. My guess is that he wants to learn how to win and he's willing to ride the pine to do exactly that.

Raiders tell Carr they are not drafting a QB and he will be a Raider. Like Jeff Garcia,Raiders aren't making any promises. Thats why theres a good chance carr won't be a raider. Unless he can't find a better offer to start.(don't believe he will be contempt to ride the pine) I will believe it when I see it.

BTw Cman50 who are you talking abouit with this comment.
I will say this again. It wouldn't hurt the Jets to bring Carr in for a look. I don't like the Raider driftwood they signed. I saw that kid play and frankly, he ain't sh!t. He showed absolutely nothing.

I don't feel like reading this, but for those who did, am I right in thinking it's basically yet another attempt by raiderjeaux to explain why the Raiders aren't as bad as we think, and that they'll be much better next year?

    Here's the 411 on this:
Like I said, this guy ain't sh!t. I saw him play and it was forgettable at best. You want him back? I'd trade you straight up for a hamburger and a side of fries.

You really think this guy is better than Dave Carr? Puff, Puff, pass man... :)

We will see how it turns out but by moves Raiders have made this offseason that is position OF Raiders and Tom Cable(Their oline coach) Kirwan who is very good friends with kiffin said to expect Alex Gibbs to be working with Raiders oline in camp. Anyone knows Alex Gibbs resume, knows his reputation building Olines(did in Denver and without drafting Olineman high) Alex Gibbs only works on oline on parttime basis these days. He very expensive. Cable and gibbs have worked together .(last year in atlanta)
Cable on the record that he has more talent on Raiders Oline to work with than he had in Atlanta last year.

No just wasn't following who you were talking about. NOw I know.
NOw getting to tuiasosopo. He was drafted BY JON Gruden(hansdpicked) to play in a WCO offense. Its a little unfair to make judgements when you saw him trying to play in a vertical offense. Thats like trying to fit a square piece in a round hole. What the jets do on offense, It wouldn't shock me that he is Jets number 2 Qb next year.

I don't doubt that he has more talent with the Raiders offensive line than he did in Atlanta. The Raiders troubles the last few years, at least on the offensive side of the ball, have been more a matter of bad morale and piss poor coaching than talent.

I hope this isn't a "play it safe/avoid the controversy" move by our FO/CS by ignoring Carr. Behind OUR Oline and playing with OUR talent, Carr could be "the sleeper" everyone knows is still out there. The downside is that Carr could supplant Clemens as the backup. Would that make folks question the FO/CS judgement? I dunno but the perception of infallibility is more important than the reality of questionable judgement in most cases when you haven't won a SB in damn near 40 years and you have a very short resume.

I'd love to see Carr throwning deep to Coles. Carr might even make JMac a viable WR again. Come to think of it, the last QB the Jets had with a respectable arm was Browning Nagle and we know how THAT turned out. Speaks volumes doesn't it?....."

CMan50...I know Nagle had a "good arm", but what about Vinny. Vinny threw a beautiful deep ball and had a ton of zip on intermediate passes. It was the short easy passes that Vinny seemed to always throw to the other team.

Carr would never sign to be a 3rd stringer. He may be told there will be a competition but that's not reality.

If it's reality anywhere, it's reality here...when Mangini says open competition, he means just that! And I would love to have a three-way competition between noodles, farmer boy, and the tackling dummy. Looks like bench-boy raider garbage is the odd man out.

Carr knows he's a starting quality QB, and he's looking for a situation where he can either start, or sit a year and then start. He's looking to be the future of a team, and righet know for us that's Kellen.

We don't have the cap room, and we need Kellen to be the #2, so he can get consistent reps in practice. Bringing in Carr would stunt his growth incredibly.

If Carr goes to Oakland, there could be a chance they take Joe Thomas, move Gallery to RT, and take a guy like Grubbs with the 33. Then that offense may have a chance to do something. Very Jet-inspired i must say.

When, not if, Carr gets his opportunity with the Panthers, he is going to shine. They have an O-line and a running game, two things he has never had. They also have a very good group of receivers and a good defense. In fact, I think Jake D. is the only thing holding the Panthers back.

Delhomme is not great but not bad either, but Carr is certainly the better QB and the Panthers should be SB contenders once again this year, especially in the NFC

    Carr >>> Delhomme

I like this. I would have liked him in Clevaland more, but whatever, the Panthers are a nice situation for anyone.

I think this might put the Panthers on top in the NFC. Carr will do well with Smith and Johnson and they've got a good OL and D as well. Excellent pickup for them.

You're absolutely right YJ! Forgot all about Vinny and that's a oversight. His issues with the short pass and Chad's issues with the deep out kinda says it all about Jet QB's in the modern era.

Too bad Carr signed with the Panthers already. Oh well....
