Um yeah, especially since Dhop has basically dissed the Jets. He listed his to 5 QBs he wanted to play fo and Rodgers wasn't on the list. Then when asked if he wanted to play for the Jets he basically laughed, said be would rather play for the pats or Bills. F Dhop
Maybe signing our own guy and Rodgers future cap lol I’m not sure who they just said no to Hopkins pretty much
well I’m assuming they are working the cap and the top priorities I think should be getting Q done and AR reworked, and then I’d love to bring back Kwon Saleh has said he’s pretty comfortable that Q will get done, the market has been set at that position, and he’s a young ascending player coming off an All Pro year…double digit sacks, and we saw first hand what that D was like without him…and it wasn’t pretty…so yah, let’s get this thing done
It appears not just a restructure, but also a 2 mil dollar pay cut. Was scheduled to make 7.25 mil this year, but will have 5.25. That's a lot more reasonable given his performance last year and the fact 7.25 was only guaranteed for 2022, not for 2023. Good move by JD to keep the player, but at a more fair price point based on performance. So, Lawson and Whitehead took a pay cut from their original deals and restructured. Would Mosley be next? Right now he is scheduled for 17 mil base in 2023, but it is not guaranteed. Taking some pay cut and converting salary to bonus a la Lawson/Whitehead makes a lot of sense. Yes, he made pro bowl, but 17 mil is a lot for him, not sure if JD will be willing to accept this, nor should he.
I think Corey Davis makes the most sense for a restructure/pay cut. That is if Dhop is off the table. Her's scheduled for 10.5 million and none of it is guaranteed.
If Whitehead didn’t take a cut, we had Clark If Lawson didn’t take a cut, we had JJ (and others) If Mosley doesn’t take a cut, we have….. Sherwood?
False alarm. Whitehead didn’t take a pay cut. Just a restructure. I’ve found you can’t rely on the research from certain people.
Like ... yourself? Here, went down from 7 to 5 annual cash: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-york-jets/jordan-whitehead-25218/
Because they moved the money to future years…. https://www.si.com/college/pittsburgh/football/pitt-panthers-new-york-jets-jordan-whitehead-contract I didn’t say anything about you. There are people on twitter and fb and all over the internet for whom you can’t rely on their research. Idk why you continue these personal attacks despite having warnings and bans from @Brook!
No personal attacks from me, just was asking whom you meant, which was a legitimate question based on how you phrased your statement. By saying (incorrectly) that my research was wrong and then immediately saying you can't trust research by "certain people" you are implying me personally. Everyone, including @Brook! , can see that. And there were no "bans" or "warnings" either: you got a warning (not me), and I got banned once, where you should have been. Still, my response here was respectful, while showing the data supporting my research in response to your attack, for the benefit of others. Whitehead did take a cut. People can look at the actual final numbers I provided from sportrac rather than generic high level si article written early in the process. The number he will get paid went to 5 mil from 7 before. That's what Whitehead will make. Only CAP moves to next year due to bonus spread. But we end up paying 2 mil less from original contract since he took a cut 2 mil.
King and Borat. It is clear you guys don't see eye to eye. At this point, it is better if you completely ignore each other.
I think Mosley also made All Pro last season. If not, it was the Pro Bowl. Either way, you can't ask him to take a pay cut.
I'm just gonna chime in on the whitehead @Brook! @Borat @KingRoach Whitehead did indeed take a 2 mil paycut. original deal was 2 years 14.5mil Cash paid in 2022 was 7.25 mil leaving 7.25 mil left on the contract for 2023. He took a 2 mil paycut down to 5.25mil but also got it fully guaranteed and more upfront now and helped us with the cap by adding a void year as well. better to get money now and guarantee it then risk getting cut and landing somewhere crappy for less money
