The LA Times resident NFL reporter/expert. He's usually pretty objective. He also has the Steelers, Broncos and Chiefs winning as well....fwiw.
I would love to just skip today and for it to be Sunday already. This day is going to take foreverrrrrrrrr
I was bad yesterday. Xmas day and jumping outa my skin. Usually sleep like a rock but not last night Maybe its the Levaquin (antibiotic Ive been taking for horrific sinusitis). Read the label and it does have those side effects Actually i am glad we are a day closer to closing this deal but yes it still sux
The only way I see us losing tomorrow is if the special teams crashes and burns. if we can get adequate play from that phase of the game I think we win.
This game is a true test of same old Jets or a new era. If the Jets want to be serious contenders they need to show the NFL and the Patriots who the boss is. Jets teams of the past would get crushed on Sunday. I think this Jets team is different and they should easily beat the Patriots this time. 28-14 Jets.
On top of the Special Teams, I am also concerned about our slow starts. If we start slow and allow Pats score on us early and go up like 14-0, it will be tough for us to recover from that deficit.
Some info on the 2004 Harvard Yale football game Fitzmagic mentions. Scrambling to keep drives alive is nothing new for the Harvard alumn.
I think if we win the toss we elect to receive in the first half. I think if we can put some points on the board early a beat-up Patriots team who has already clinched a bye isn't going to risk losing what starters they have left in a game that doesn't mean a whole lot to them.
Patises lead at half time 14-10. Big defensive push in the second half keeps them to 6 points and we win 27-20. FWIW I called for us to win this game even after the last loss to them. I feel better about it now than I did then.
I would like to see that because I have never seen someone with fingers a 2 feet long, that's how long Douzable's finger would have to be to have poked him in the eye.
both good points. Patriots have very good special teams, from placekicking to coverage and returns. huge advantage there, and i worry a big play or made/missed kick could be the difference. Brook, to your point, i've been saying for years the first quarter is so important when playing the Pats. their goal is to get that quick lead, and allow their D to play one dimensionally. that's when games landslide their way. keep it close early, and you'll have a balanced battle for 4 quarters.
Win or lose it is great to be watching a game with this magnitude. It's been what 4-5 years since we've played a game of this significance? Obviously we need to win this game but it's great that the jets are back to winning football and giving us something to cheer for late in the season. 2 games left, it's has gone by so fast.
+1000 We turn a page here bro Less than 24 hours to game time woohoo Not getting game down here so gotta go NFL redzone
