This is more like it, the Jets had been a middle of the pack team on offense for quite some time.

we have been one of the better AFC teams in that timeframe so we had a ton of chances to blow bigger leads.

If the Jets go with a new HC it going to take a while to get this team going again.. These guys play hard for Rex and it shows on the field and the stats prove that. I would much rather have Rex on the Jets then have to face Rex on another team. I have said this in other threads,," The Grass Is Always Greener "

It's amazing people are harping on that. What's the difference between a 23 yard FG and a 28 yard FG in that situation??? None...it's a chip shot. Take the 5 yard penalty. It was the first drive of the game. Saving the timeout for later is more valuable than the yardage in that situation.

Now, if you want to complain that too much time was taken in the huddle or the play was sent in late preventing them from actually running a play then you might have a point. However, you don't know if MM was gonna bluff and try to draw them offside or not which would render that entire argument meaningless.

there were a number of blatant holds by their offensive line that went uncalled

but for the most part, the refs let both teams play

Rex needs to get an XXL hoodie and learn to scowl and mumble his way through a press conferences.

Atlanta scored on the next play, that means the game was affected by the call. had the Jets held them then the game would not have been affected because both teams would have been in the same position as had the call not been made.

the minute Atlanta scored the game changed, thus it was affected.

the Jets scoring again is irrelevant to whether the call affected the game.

It would be idiotic to fire Rex. Rex has brought an attitude to this entire franchise that has been desperately lacking.

I will correct myself, there were no bad calls made that affected the game. The penalties that did affect the game were legit.

    How is that?

Rex is not going anywhere except to the bank with his five year long term extension as Head Coach of the New York Jets

Can you imagine the hate on this board toward Geno if a new HC and OC come in next season and Geno struggles with the new offense or at least does not improve we will have Sanchez 2.

Keep some consistency groom your young signal caller give him some weapons and consistency.

I like what Rex has done thus far, but there is a lot of football still to play.

Can't wait for Rex to get an extension. This team needs continuity and we're heading in the right direction.

I don't want him to get fired. And I'm tired of seeing the coaching carousel in the last thirty years. The Jets need to be patient and not drop the hammer every few years when things look bad. Just imagine if Cowher had been fired a year or so after the Super Bowl loss to Dallas - they probably wouldn't have won in 05 if he wasn't around.

I can only picture the Jets finding another loser coach and Ryan in Oakland, or where ever, winning a championship when that happens. :(

I just read this and had to comment on it to bring it back into everyone's consciousness. Number 1 is downright hysterical. With the first sentence in number 3 being a close second. Ha!!!

when did Tomdope write this epistle of ignorance?

Before the season when all the media experts were writing that the Jets were a "virtual expansion team"?

In that case, he is to be forgiven since he was deluded by the agenda driven rants and rambles of the likes of Semen, Womanish and the rest of the jackals

If it was any time after the actual start of the season, it was truly dumb
