    This is stupid.

You are seriously comparing Rex to Kotite?

Only fucking Jets fans, over-reacting jack rabbits.

People are seemingly easily forgetting this is still preseason.

Rex's first two years alone makes Rex a million times better than Kotite. Not even close.

Stop over analyzing a preseason game. It's just silly. You think that's what he would have done in a lot of those situations in a regular season game?

    Come on.

I totally agree! Rex never pays attention to the offense, so he probable had no clue what down it was.

comparing eli to sanchez seems kind of silly - eli is not in a qb competition....sanchez is and it was perfectly legitimate to get mark some snaps in the game. the overreaction to this is absurd.

Talent wise in 2009 we were a top team. In 2010 we were the best team...talent wise.

Rex had very little to do with that. He is clueless when it comes to evaluating talent. It now seems he is not even good at evaluating defensive talent. Even in 2010 with the number 1 defense and number 1 running game seven other teams had better seasons than us. Yes we had some good playoff games but in 2010 we had the top defense and running game yet we didn’t win the Superbowl. We didn’t even make the Superbowl.

You know what deserves its own thread on this site. Rex fans explaining how and why Rex Ryan is a good head coach. Let’s have a thread that points out all the good qualities Rex brings as a HC. It would be a hoot to see all the deluded Rex fan’s trying to name one strength Rex has as a HC because there isn’t any.

A head coach having a meltdown during a press conference isn't unheard of. I believe rex ryan is a good head coach. To say he isn't a good hc because he isn't as involved in if the offense is just nonsense. Many hc have come from being a dc or oc, they aren't that involved in both sides either. Most hc's give their dc or oc freedom to do as they see fit. Most res haters don't see that. They just assume rex is a bad hc because he isn't involved in the offense or special teams. You know what they say about people who assume things...

Name one quality of a good HC that Rex Ryan has. Just one. And bear in mind we already have a DC.

What I find amazing is that your throwing your toys outta the pram in pre season, in what we all know is a rebuild year.
    Relax

How? When they play poorly he supports them. When they speak out of turn he supports them. What does that accomplish? We are a long ways from Tuna-land here.

Bear in mind it’s not the job of the HC to be their buddy. It’s their job to be their boss and in times of need regain control through discipline and structure. Being their buddy is not a quality of a good HC.

I have been saying we need to dump Rex when it became clear he was not HC material several seasons ago. I dont even care about preseason.

I can't wait for Rex to be extended. People are going to riot or start jumping off cliffs when that happens.

Aside from being an excellent, innovative Defensive coach, and aside from being someone players love to play for, as another poster mentioned, he's really good at making adjustments during games.

For instance, San Diego in 2011. We held them to around 100 total yards and outscored them 17-0 in the second half to win 27-21. If we're not performing well in a particular game, Rex has shown that he can make effective halftime adjustments.

Not the patriots and bills fans. They would love to see Ryan get an extension.

This is stupid. Patriot fans know he out coached Belichick in 2010 in his own house in the playoffs. Ryan has absolutely owned the Bills so why would they be happy to have him still coaching.
