I'm sure all you guys have studied Connor on film in depth. All I do is watch running plays when Connor is the lead blocker. He has not shown anything more than an average NFL fullback.
LOL Damien Woody @damienwoody 1st down pass for 7 yards & couldn't get 3 yds on 3 tries!!! #C'MonFellas Damien Woody @damienwoody Don't get mad at me ppl....I'm not playing!!! Damien Woody @damienwoody Somewhere, Schotty is chuckling Damien Woody @damienwoody I guess if u don't have anything good 2 say then u don't say anything at all.......#CRICKETS!!!!
the only difference between this year (WFH) and years past (schotty) will be the new excuse. i said this in the past and you said i wasn't a jets fan. i call it like i see it, not wishfull thinking and excuses when it doesn't happen!
If you think blaming WFH for the offensive issues last night is nothing more than an excuse then you don't have a clue.
And we almost certainly would have called a different play had it not been the preseason. My guess is that part of the reason for those play calls was to evaluate how the guys up front were going to handle that situation. Regular season you probably see Tebow in the wildcat or a play action or any number of things done differently.
Funny thing about this post is that WFH was responsible for that 4th and one run stuff. I'm beginning to wonder if you guys watched the same game I did, because Greene was one of the few things that looked decent last night on offense. That run stop was definitely not his fault, although I felt like it was a Schotty moment scratching my head after that botched play to Connor. If they ran Greene to the side, they would have had it easy.
Greene did have a couple of nice runs on that one drive, I'll give you that. But I'd say all of them was thanks to the run blocking, rather than any sort of Greene magic. The guy is completely unable to even turn left or right once he's started running, let alone change direction. He tilts his torso down the moment he gets the ball, and then he goes off in a straight line until he runs into something. Sadly, it's usually the backside of a team mate in the line. He NEVER makes a play, as in making someone miss or breaking off a big gain after running through a guy. The one and only thing he has going for him is his ability to pick up another yard after contact.
That was one of the more annoying things for sure. I mean, pretty much everything was annoying about that game: sacks, horrible punts, McKnight hitting the punter early on, all the penalties against us, the pick 6...it was a comedy of errors for sure.
This was the most disturbing aspect of the game to me. 3 situations w/ 3rd or 4th and about a yd and we failed every time against a beat up interior of the DL.
Someone (Bart Scott?) got pressure and Eli threw a really bad pass right at Laudry. But on topic. Yes should be able to get a yard. I heard Sporano was a kind of o-line guru and could get this mix sorted out. What the fuck.
Realistically. when you cant pass protect, and have no receivers or skill players that scare the defense, you arent going to get alot of room to run. and when you have average backs and average run blockers... your not getting many yards vs. defenses daring you to pass. tanny did a terrible job this offseason. didnt improve the line, didnt improve the backfield
