Did you happen to notice the column titled "bonus money" next to Suggs' salary? Suggs was a franchise player who got most of hims money as a $10mil bonus and Ngata is coming off of his Rookie contract as the best all around DE in the league. Suggs is a 3-4 OLB to begin with. Will Smith signed a back-loaded extension with a high payoff in the next couple of seasons, Ray Edwards is still on his rookie contract, and Brian Orakpo is on the first year of his rookie contract, and is playing as an OLB. Gaines Adams, prior to his passing was also on his rookie contract before passing away earlier this month. You clearly have no idea about that which you speak. Please stop.

From what I understand, the Jets are restricted in free agent spending based on how much the players that leave the Jets get in free agency. Is this correct? How will the Jets know how much they can spend early on if their own free agents don't sign until late in the summer?
