And why not? Dude was the only QB that went up against a formidable opponent this weekend... He more than held his own against a tough Georgia team. Kid is a baller. If he is available when we pick next year, I would not be against grabbing him.
If Bridgewater is available at the 2 spot - no way in hell are we trading down. Trading down and taking David Fales (if Geno doesn't pan out and Bridgewater isn't available) would be excellent also. Offense, Offense, Offense next draft.
I know it was against Ohio, but Teddy Bridgewater really did look ridonkulously impressive. I love how quick he gets the ball out (even if he does tend to hold it for a while, his release is super quick). If the Jets are bad this year, I was always more of a "Drown Me 4 Clowney" guy but I might be converted into a "Tank 4 Teddy" guy. That's got nothing to do with Clowney's week 1 performance and everything to do with me loving some Teddy.
The game's changed. Between the rules begging for more passing and running back's being done at 30, they just don't have the same value they did 10+ years ago. Edit: Also, due to the rule changes allowing for more offense, defenses are less effective which winds up leading to more passing since shootouts are far more commonplace in today's game.
I would say wideout, rb, te, olb, and safety to start with. Scrap Mark and Holmes and we might have some money next year.
Trent Richardson & before that Darren McFadden..that's about it.The position has changed..most guys only getting 10-12 carries a game at the most in some sort of committee role. That said there are quite a few impressive RB prospects. None are surefire top 10 picks but all have a chance to rise to that level. Health/performance should dictate where they end up. Lache Seastruk Deanthony Thomas Kadeem Carey Duke Johnson Todd Gurley(2015)
Love all of those guys. Also add Yeldon, probably the best of the bunch. Too bad we will have to just watch Duke, Gurley and TJ Yeldon knowing they wont be coming out this year. Lache is great tho. Reminds me of an MJD with his body type.
