OK, so how did Chad w/ less talent and the same coaches 2 years ago win 10 games and lead us to the playoffs?
Look at the schedule...that's how. Since you like to make ridiculous arguments then tell me how he got benched and went 1-8 last year with the same two coaches. That was the same team as the year before. Actually better. It had Jones, Revis and Harris and Chad flat out sucked. Despite what you think, he isn't all that great this year either. 11 TDs in 12 games is not going to win him any honors. The wilcat won 2 and possibly 3 games outright when Chad never touched the ball on the winning plays. That's the coaching aspect.
Do you think Miami's sched this year is much more difficult than our sched 2 years ago? By the way we had the toughest sched of any playoff team that year. How was Miami doing w/ these RBs pre-Chad? They run the wildcat 3-4 times a game, that's not why they are winning. That may be why they beat up NE but it's not why they have won 6 other games.
We had the second easiest schedule in the league that year. Don't invent history as you go. We have an easy schedule this year too and if we didn't we would probably not be 8-4. We still have the same coaches this year too. The wildcat is exactly why they beat NE, and at least one other team and maybe two. I know one of them was 2 or 3 weeks ago but since I don't really follow them I forget which one it was.
We also had one win against a team with a winning record and that was against NE in bad weather. We played TN game one when they were outright putrid, they lost their first 5 games before turning around and Green Bay was 4 & 8 when we beat them before they beat up on 4 crappy teams to end up with a 500 record. Look it up we lost to every good team we played except NE once in a weather game.
It doesn't matter, we played the toughest sched of any playoff team. So beating the Kerry Collins led Titans was no big deal? Humiliating the great Brett Favre and the packers at lambeau was no big deal? I love your excuses, if the Giants played that sched you'd be crowing about how they won in Tennessee, how the beat up GB at GB, how they beat NE in NE, how tough they played against Indy and Chicago, how they battled the elements to beat Miami in Miami.
We beat one team with a winning record look it up. You're the one making excuses. We had a cup cake schedule in 04 and that's why we made it to the playoffs. The fact that other teams with cup cake schedules made it to the playoffs because the league was full of bad and mediocre teams doesn't change that Fact. You are the one making excusses. We lost to Chicago we lost to Indiana and we beat a crap Miami team. The Great Brett Favre has been over the hill for years. The fact that he is still a top NFL QB is more evidence of how crappy the league is not how good the Jets were in 06 which wasn't very good as evidenced by our record against good teams in 06.
Yep a cupcake sched in '04 where we were the only team to win at SD and we did it twice including in the playoffs against the 12-4 Chargers but we didn't beat anyone that year either. Just go watch your giants and let Jet fans worry about the Jets.
Who said the 04 team wasn't much better than the 06 team? I take that you're either out of bullets are you can't man up.
Where did I say you said the '04 team wasn't much better than the '06 team? You are telling me I'm out of bullets? What's funny is your giants had a creampuf sched in '05 including an extra home game- do you mention that when talking about the Giants? Do you mention how they had one of the easiest scheds of all time in 2000 and how that helped them win a weak NFC? Of course not. Stick to your own team.
I haven't been arguing the Giants didn't have creampuff schedules in 2000 and 2005, you have. My argument was the Giants last year were a far better team than the Jets primarily because the Jets had no running game no OL an no DL. The Giants were clearly superior to us in the trenches not even close. You argued the Jets were equally as good in fact you used these:rofl::rofl: multiple times. By the way the Giants went 3 & 1 during the regular season in both 2000 and 2005 against AFC teams, we had the same 3 & 1 record in 02 and 04 against NFC teams. That said they did have a creampuff schedule. The fact is the league is mostly mediocre teams and most NFL teams have a creampuff schedule with a couple of exceptions every year. It must be tough for you this year playing against Chad twice and Herm once. You seem to be conflicted. Unlike you I root for two football teams and fortunately they rarely play each other. By the way the primary reason the Giants were better than us is they added K-Mack and we lost him and Ferguson, both moves you argued weren't a big deal over and over again. If I recall you said K-Mack was over paid and DRob made Ferguson in 04. Both of those moves coupled with the Giants focus on both their D Line and O Line created a huge talent gap between our teams.
I didn't say the Jets were better than the giants last year, did I? I argued we had similar talent going into our meeting. Obviously our OL stunk and the DL wasn't much better but the Giants weren't setting the world on fire at that point and only a giant homer would talk about them the way you did. Eli was nothiong more than mediocre, they had a HC they wanted fired and who had never won anything, they hadn't won a playoff game since 2000, Strahan was the leader of highly rated Ds that always choked in big games, Eli had never won a playopff game, they just lost Tiki, Burress was a guy who never showed up in big games. The facts were on my side. The Giants obviously got hot and turned out to be much better than us but at the time they were not. When do I seem to be conflicted? B/c I appreciate what Chad and Herm did here? UNLIKE you I don't have 2 teams, I want the Jets to win every week. Fans that have 2 teams aren't really big fans, when the Jets do eventually win a SB(hopefully) I'll appreciate it alot more than someone who has multiple teams to choose from.
Kareem is good but nothing special, he didn't transform their OL. They acquired other really good OL. Kareem is probably their worst OL and their least important. Ferguson hasn't done anything since leaving the Jets and Robertson got hurt then was forced to change schemes. Those guys nleft after '04, we were better than the Giants in '06 so obviosuly it wasn't those 2 moves especially since right now we have a better OL and DL than we ever had w/ Kareem and Ferguson and there is not a huge talent gap btw our teams. The Giants have the edge obviously but it's not huge.
The fact that you didn't recognize that the Giants were far superior to us in the trenches despite their play is what you simply ignore. You were the one comfortable with K-Mack and Ferguson leaving both moves that helped change the talent level dramatically between our two teams. I sincerly hope you get the chance to see the Jets win a Super Bowl and appreciate it more than every other Jets fan because of your loyalty to only one team. Make sure your Dolphins Chad shirt is worn under your Jets Favre shirt when you go to the SB.
We closed the gap substantially this off season no question. The Giants advantage this year is more over all depth and a much better team scheme on both sides of the ball with the players and QB having experience in the system and playing together. If we can get that consistency and make the big game changing plays we can make some noise this year. The Giants had better personal than us in 06 they didn't play as well particularly consistency at QB. Chad did a good job in 06 didn't blow up the team, Eli did. Conversly Eli's play helped lift his team down the stretch in 07.
You are a fan, you sdidn't recognize anything b/c they hadn't played anywhere near their potential. You were optimistic, you didn't know anything. Unlike you I root for ONE team. I am not a Giant and Jet fan(I don't believe you are a Jet fan at all though) and yes I will enjoy it more than a bandwagon fan w/ multiple teams like you.
